Great going at the Ambassador's Cup

The results of hard training were reaped in Vantaa

As usual, the Vantaa Ambassador's Cup quickly gathered competitors for both the match and business series. The competition was given an international color with Estonian and Russian competitors. The taekwondo athletes had 18 representations in the match and as many as 22 in the movement series. The results again gave reason to smile.

There was enough work ethic on the match fields

The activity of the match team, from the warm-up to the competition performance, was wonderfully on point. The contestants were ready to work for their victories and to solve tight spots with their own active and determined play. In the matches, this was seen, for example, in the desire to control the course of the match and initiate situations yourself. Points for further places were dug up by own initiatives. The contestants also knew how to stick to the agreed tactics excellently.

In the adult and junior series Bard, Chahra and Chaimaa showed how matches are controlled with great self-confidence. Chahra and Chaimaa scored points with extremely high percentages from situation to situation, and Bardia once again showed that he is in control of the versatile match by following the very tactics that sank the opponents. Emmi took a clear opening victory, but the points could not be utilized in the final enough for a gold medal. Emmi also excelled as a judge in children's and amateur matches.

In the cadet series, mutual struggles were again seen, as well as tight contests with familiar opponents. Vennen the opening win was once again excellent, as was the final match, even though there was silver to take home. However, the narrow defeat showed that the top of the series is not light years away. Aino, Ines and Jenny faced each other as well as others, resulting in a triple win in the -37kg series and a win in the -33kg series, with Jenny winning two series. In the 37-kilogram category, the marching order this time was Aino, Iines and Jenny. I remembered e.g. Aino's great back spins and upper kicks, Iines' will to push forward and Jenny's unyieldingness. Lauri advanced from his first match to the final with a clean performance, but in the final he had to admit that his opponent was better, even though he fought well. An upsetting opening loss for Janika, but when you get your protection sorted out, the end result is completely the opposite.

In the series for children and hobbyists Milay and Hamza took their own sets. What both did was united by a determined desire to win situations and be a more active party. Mark and Reed they both took silver and the gold medal was not far away either. The purposeful training was visible in the shots and will surely be visible again next time. Reed also played a great match, even though there was a loss in the opening. The kicks had been found briskly since the last time. Salma was participating for the first time and he also got a silver medal after an excellent match.

The business league team's performances raised expectations for the fall KV championships

Business series fans contract several series with a heavy balance. Ville was able to pull on the judge's jacket with satisfaction after first grabbing gold from both individuals and pairs and then silver from the group. Individuals also received a gold medal around their neck plum, who also grabbed a silver medal in his doubles. The biggest individual series of the day was the cadet girls' series of 13 competitors, where Bella, Vickan, Aino, Sofia and Sedge each of them sought the highest points. In the hard level series Sedge, Aino and Sophia made their way to the finals and Aino even third place in the awards. Tara, Alex and Laura each took silver in their individual series. In addition, Tara won gold in groups and Laura silver in pairs. Life participated only in the group, but once again the trio's performances raised high expectations for the upcoming World Championships. Marita and Milay performed well in amateur series and will certainly continue to be seen in commercial series competitions.

Looking from the side, you can't help but be amazed at the ability of the movement series team to focus on their performances and generate strength for individual techniques. Even later in the fall, Ville, Elina, Sara, Plum and Christian will represent Finland in the World Championships in Taiwan, while Aino, VIckan, Bella and Sofia will be seen in the European club championships in Spain. A report on them will follow and we will certainly be able to write in a positive tone even then!

Congratulations to all the medalists of the day!

The fighting will of the match team is at its peak in Porvoo

The day's performances gave reason to smile

In the match competitions in Porvoo, all the emotions that belong to a good sports event were once again felt. The competition day of the taekwondo athletes included joy, excitement, fun, solidarity and of course some disappointments. However, when the team left the hall, accompanied by the last TU shouts, there was really reason to smile. A great start to the autumn season!

A few athletes opened up their own thoughts about the day's feelings:

Bardia (Men -80kg, 1st)
”Sain kannustuksesta energiaa ja joukkue ja koutsit olivat aivan parhaita! Päivästä mieleen jäivät kaikki asiat!”

Iines (Cadets, -37kg, 1st)

Jenny (Cadets -33kg and -37kg, 3. 3.)
”Ihan ok fiilis jäi. Päivästä jäi mieleen, että sain hyvät matsit enkä olisi aluksi uskonut, että selviän noin hyvin koko matsin todella kovaa venäläistä vastaan.”

Max (Promise of the Future)
”Otteleminen näyttää hyvältä. En ehkä itse vielä menisi, mutta pian kyllä!”

Special mention goes to Emilia Lahti and Abdelhak Lemzouri, who shared justice in the role of judge. Abdelhak, who has been rehabilitated as an IR judge, made his debut on the Finnish competition mats, and Emmi gave her first judge appearances and, looking from the sidelines, quite a model!

Thanks to the whole team for a great day! Let's continue the determined work in the gym. :)

Hard-working summer trainers completed belts in August's belt tests

At the belt exams in August, the enthusiasts who trained hard in the summer received their reward in the form of new belt values. The level of competence was quite good and the emphasis on training was especially evident. The basic technical performances of those participating in the competition groups of business series were unparalleled, as well as the match competitors showed how match situations are managed.

Congratulations to all those who completed the new belt rank!
