The Ambassador's Cup will take place on November 12, 2016 in Vantaa. It is the biggest tournament of the fall and our club also participates with a big team. If you don't fight yourself, come cheer or help with team maintenance, warm-ups, etc...
The competitions have series for both beginners and advanced players. There is a suitable series for all age groups.
If you want to join, send an email to the address info@tu11.fi or ask the instructors about it.
Jenna Partanen and Eddie Quinones were responsible for TU11's medals at the G1 tournament held in Riga on October 8 and 9. In addition, Sara took bronze in the children's tournament organized in connection with the competition.
Jenna competed on Saturday and initially faced the Russian Nadezha Glyshko. The match went under Jenna's control and ended 7-4. Next in the round, the familiar Polish Ulfig Jagoda met. With the new match concept, the result of an even match was 7-1 for the Pole, but Jenna was able to do the right things nicely. When the system can be run in completely, the Pole is also in trouble.
Eddie Quinones competed in the cadet boys' -61 kg category. He had a straight final that might not have been Eddie's best but was enough for a 3-2 win. The medal cabinet is handsome, because within a year Eddie has won 2 G1 races and was once silver.
Luca, Sara, Severi, Teemu and Tuikku missed the first round this time.
Race report from Porvoo
The autumn domestic competition season continued on October 8. In Porvoo. The taekwondo athletes were represented by a number of familiar faces as well as a couple who had not been to the games.
Upbeat performances on trains
In the morning, first-timer Iines Korhose had a reason to smile when, after two rather overwhelming victories, a gold medal was hung around his neck.
Venne Viitaniemi, who competed in his second competition, also showed a model of hard kicks. The first opponent's attempts were quickly reduced to Venne's kicks, but in his second match, Venne had to bow to numbers 4-5.
Janika Tatti competed in two series, the final matches of both of which were almost consecutive. An unfortunate loss in the first turned into a tasty victory in the second at the end of a tight match.
Lauri Hulikkala won his first match 5-4, but had to admit that his tall opponent was better in the final. Lauri's persistent effort until the last seconds of the match was amazing to watch.
The D1 girls' -30kg series was strongly represented, as three of the four competitors recognized the colors of Taekwondo athletes. A mutual match could not be avoided, and Jenny Vettenniemi and Aino Kortelainen took the measure of each other in the semifinals. This time, Jenny was one point better and advanced to the final against the Porvoo who won Sofia. Unfortunately, the final ended in a 0-1 loss, but Jenny already vowed to win next time.
Frans Orjasniemi found scoring opportunities well, but the kicks remained cautious and the required number of points did not accumulate on the board. Similarly, Risto Hyvärinen, who played in adult amateurs, was unnecessarily careful with his kicks and thus lost in the opening match.

A small team in cadets
Only Emilia Lahti and Plum Kopisto were responsible for the cadet representation this time, when part of the team was in the Latvian G1 tournament. However, both of them participated in two series and the balance was a nice 3 gold and 1 silver. Plum's performance in the final of the cadet -45kg series was extremely positive. A strong and taller opponent roared forward with power, but Plum stopped him in one situation after another, snapping home the points himself. The tactically very complete match ended with a 3-0 win for Plum. Only 8 seconds had passed in Plum's second final, when the opponent had to give up due to a leg injury. However, the 3-0 score for Plum showed that Plum's hunt for points had only just begun.
Emmi got busy with her own finals, when one was waiting to start while the other was still in progress. A loss from B1 teams, but a 3-1 win from our own cadet series. Emmi's elegant solution in the last moments of the match brought the victory home, when the overtime was only seconds away.
The coaching team Juho Ranta, Petteri Kauppinen and Pauli Raivio were satisfied with the day's performance. The team's team spirit played really well and the parents were always involved in the heart of the action. Hopefully, we will go to the Vantaa Ambassador's Cup with a twice as big team in the same positive spirit!

Essi for places 9.-16. In Peru
Essi Labart and Christian Kamphuis represented Finland at the business series World Championships in Peru in the country's capital, Lima, from September 29 to October 2, 2016.
Essi competed in the individual series on Saturday. For the first time, all over 18-year-old individual series were contested with a single elimination system (cup scheme). An opponent is drawn for the contestants and the better of the two advances to the next round. In the first round, the representative of Croatia faced each other. Essi performed at his own top level against Croatia. Croatia fell behind and Essi advanced to the quarterfinals. The next opponent was the experienced Gabriella Coffa from Holland. Good performances were not enough to drop the Dutchman, so Essi's final ranking was: 9th-16th.
Essi and Christian competed in the under-30 doubles category. Despite their solid performances, the pair unfortunately missed the semi-final spot. The doubles series was conducted using the cut-off method, which means that based on the points from the first qualifying round, half of the competing teams make it to the semi-finals, and correspondingly, the eight best of the semi-finals advance to the finals. Also in the final, the scores of all competitors are compared to each other, and the winner is decided based on the scores.
In addition to the pairs series, Christian also competed in the individual freestyle. The series took place on Sunday. The number of freestyle competitors has grown tremendously, and this time there were 23 competitors in the over 18-year-old men's individual series. Christian's warm-up went well, but unfortunately on the competition stage, the lactic acids got the better of him and Christian had to drop kicks from acrobatic movements, which resulted in a considerable penalty for points. The eight-person final place that took place in the evening remained a dream this time.
The level of the competition was tough, although the Finns took an amazing two bronzes, from the women's +30 group series and the women's -40 series.
The long wait ended on Sunday 2.10. kun ”Harmaat pantterit” -ryhmä ponkaisi käyntiin. Harjoitukset ovat pääsääntöisesti sunnuntaisin klo 12-13, but course instructor Janne Rita gives even more detailed schedules. Janne has a long experience not only in taekwondo but also with stuck hips and tight shoulders. So even the most rigid get oil in the machinery!
Who is the panther group suitable for? Just for anyone who has ever sat on the edge of the hall marveling at their children's taekwondo skills or even threatened to know better themselves. No previous experience or basic physical fitness is required, but you can get started lightly, relaxedly and with a twinkle in your eye.
Participation in classes does not require prior registration. The hourly fee is voluntary and is collected in cash at the beginning of the hour. Taekwondo athletes will triple the accumulated amount and it will be directed directly to support the training of the club's athletes. The proceeds of the autumn course will be directed to support the athletes' training by buying electronic armor and head protection for the club.
The first indoor competitions of autumn will be held as usual on the last Friday of the month 30.9.
Participation is free for everyone, and you do not need to register separately. Competitors from outside the club are also warmly welcome.
17:00-19:00 – E, D, and C2
19:00-21:00 – C1, B1, A1 and H (can be started on a rolling basis even earlier at the end of the junnum races)
If you are not sure which group you should join, feel free to contact the coaches. Especially for the larger C2 trains, it is worth asking if more suitable resistors could be found on a later shift. We encourage all new enthusiasts to participate in the games, even if they don't even know what competing means. The first time you can look at the moods or even try it yourself if you feel like it.
You can borrow the missing protectors from the club, but we recommend everyone to buy their own training protectors. Ask more from the gym's equipment store and coaches.
Note! No other exercises will be organized on the day of the Salika competition.
A handsome medal pot from Eura
The fitness level of the taekwondo athletes was just right in Eura
The first competitions of the autumn domestic competition season were organized on Saturday 24.9. in Eura. A total of 170 athletes fought for medals, and the team of Taekwondo athletes did get their own encouragement and a little bit from others as well.
In the morning heats, Lauri Hulikkala, Aino Kortelainen and Sofia Sarala grabbed the first medals of the day, when Aino and Lauri won their series with stylish performances, and Sofia had to settle for bronze after a tight fight.

Bronze for Emmi from Poland
Emilia Lahti took bronze in the cadet girls' under 51 kg category at the G1 tournament in Poland at the weekend. Even a brighter medal was close when the follow-up heat was finished. The Dutch girl who was opposite took the series with an overwhelming points win.
Emilia was our club's only medalist when Plum Kopisto, Luca Leskinen, Sami Leskinen and Severi Sarala missed their first rounds. Jenna Partanen beat a tough Croatian in the first round, but in the quarterfinals the reigning European champion, British Lauren Williams, was better this time.
Matti Sairanen did not succeed in the Eekwondo European Championships for the disabled in Warsaw, Poland. In the first round, he lost to Italy's Antonio Bossolo 15-3 before full time. Bossolo is ranked 4th in the world, while Matti's ranking is 12th. Matti competes in the disability category K44 in the weight category under 61 kg.
