In an amateur match, safety comes first and protection is always carried during training. The group is suitable for anyone interested in the match. The amateur match is also a good starting point for those who aim to train in competitive groups.

Hobby shop series

In the amateur movement series, the basics of movement sets are practiced and, of course, new movement sets are studied. In the training, we also dig deeper than basic training into the secrets of steps, hand techniques, kicks and power production. A very good workout for all enthusiasts, for example as part of a belt test. All enthusiasts who have learned the first set of movements can join the exercise.

Children's hobby shop series on Thursdays from 17:00 to 18:00
Hobby shop series for young people and adults on Mondays at 18-19

General physical skills, games and games

This exercise with a complicated name started in the fall of 2019 and is intended for all enthusiasts aged 7-15. As the name suggests, the training involves practicing physical skills comprehensively, taking into account the requirements of children and young people's periods of sensitivity. We especially emphasize acrobatics, mobility, body control, coordination and speed training. The group is a successor to the previously held acrobatics group, so all enthusiasts interested in acrobatics can join. In the classes, we also play various physical games and play games that develop the aforementioned qualities.

Accompanying training for adults

Additional training for adults consists of three separate exercises, fitness circuit, core and body care.

Fitness circuit is a high-performance muscle fitness and endurance exercise. Movements are performed either with the body's own weight or with small additional weights. The main focus in the exercises is on practicing basic strength and strength endurance with the help of changing themes. The fitness circuits are suitable for beginners as well as wash-resistant strongmen and women. The number of repetitions and intensity can be customized to suit everyone.

Core-exercises focus on strengthening the muscles of the upper body. The goal is to build a strong core that supports other training, supports body control and mobility, and prevents back and joint problems.

In body care exercises several different stretching methods are applied with the goal of an overall more mobile and healthier body. The stretches are not only limited to static and passive muscle stretches, but also joint trajectories and active stretching are taken into account. The stretching exercise is specially designed to support taekwondo training, but is suitable for everyone who is interested in a better moving and stretching body.

Free exercise

Enthusiasts over the age of 15 can also train independently at the gym on Saturdays from 13:00 to 14:00. There is an instructor there, from whom you can ask for tips for your own training if necessary.

Sunday kick training

Kick training is suitable for all enthusiasts over the age of 12 who are not afraid of sweating and an increase in heart rate. Kick training combines fitness and taekwondo kicking techniques, i.e. an ideal exercise for anyone who seriously wants to get the most out of themselves.

Racing groups

Competition groups have a slightly more expensive fee than basic groups, but this fee entitles you to attend all possible exercises that can be found in the gym. In addition, athletes have the right to use the hall for their own training. Athletes with different goals train in competition groups, but all of them have in common a strong desire to improve and to put in the effort for results. Maybe you too will become an athlete in the competitive teams of Taekwondo athletes. Ask your coach for more information today!

We hope to see you in further training as soon as possible!

20 championships from SM competitions | Taekwondo athletes 2011 | Taekwondo Helsinki

    Taekwondo, Helsinki

The match team has a great competitive spirit

Taekwondo's Finnish championships were contested this year right at the beginning of the year as part of the multi-sport event of the SM week in winter Joensuu. The victory-hungry taekwondo team jumped on the bus from Helsinki on Friday and the long drive flew by in an instant, fueled by a great sense of togetherness. On the way back on Saturday, the bus was full of tired, but even more satisfied athletes. There was also cause for victory celebrations, as no fewer than 15 championships were won in the match and five in the business series.

A few of the adult series were televised For YLE's broadcast and not Chahrazed Boughraran the match and the amazing overtime win left no one cold on the spot and certainly not behind the screens either. Adding to the value of the championship was the fact that the competition was Chahra's first in the adult leagues, even though she is still officially a junior. The chairman of the club also took the championship Teemu Heino, who took his 21st championship. The last time a man was beaten in Finland was in 1996, and not a teammate Riku Kytömäki was able to break the chain. However, for Riku, the championship is represented by a man from one weight class lower in two series. He also reached the championship in adults Bardia Mirzaei. Severi Saralan was settling for bronze.

In juniors (15-17 years) power duo Lauri Hulikkala and Plum Duplicator have been able to fight each other in recent years, but after Plum moved to a higher weight class, both had a chance for the brightest medal. The boys did a great job, championships for both. Chaimaa Boughrara also continued to have complete control in his own weight class and took the championship with quite a lot of points. Competing in juniors for the first time Juuli Mankonen immediately got into the rhythm of the match and there was no doubt about the winner as Juuli took the championship. They also won the championship Eddie Quinones. Honey La's and Renad Almalkyn the active training approach was visible as a clear development in the performances, but still silver for both in this batch.

The cadet series (12-14 years old) also saw great performances. Iines Korhonen fought as if in ecstasy and the results were also in line with it: championship in two weight classes with clear point differences. Jenny Vettenniemi showed a strong will to fight by determinedly seeking winning points until the last set of the match. The hard work was rewarded and Jenny got gold to take home. Debuted in the cadet series Teemu Takala immediately fixed the entire pot by winning his own series. Venne Viitaniemi participated in two series, one of which won gold and the other silver. Sara Quinones took gold like his brother one age class below. Markus Liuko was, as usual, quite a firecracker on the field, but despite the tight competition, he was satisfied with the bronze.

For Christian, the triple championship in business series

On the business series side Christian Kamphuis won almost everything there is to win. Christian took the championship in the tough men's under-30 series. The level of the series is told by the fact that the top three were the same in the PM competitions a few weeks ago, but this time the order changed as Christian reached the highest podium. Christian also won the freestyle series and the under-30 group series together with Turku Budokwa's Frans Salme and Olli Siltanen. The individual series championship was also won Laura Kinnunen, who, in addition to his own competition, worked as a coach for the rest of the team. Laura found great focus and precision in what she was doing. Eero Halenius was in the adult series for the first time and immediately gave good displays. Rank fifth in this round. Elina Tikkanen participated only in the group series together with HIPKO's Linda Räkköläinen and Tampere Kumgang Taekwondo's Nea Säynäjoki. The team won silver.

On the junior side, they took the championship Aino Kortelainen and Alex Jurgens from the under-17 pairs series, and both won silver in their own under-15 individual series. On the girls side Bella Buri took bronze and Sofia Saralan and Victoria Hentunen was content with fourth and fifth instead. In the group series for girls under 17 years old, there was a tight battle for positions. Aino and Sara got silver together with Kuopio Taekwondo's Airada Heikkinen. Bella, Sofia and Victoria were right behind with bronze. Luca Leskinen continued his freestyle debut a few weeks ago by grabbing bronze in the series. With a few corrections, Lucas can be quite a factor in freestyle, because there is no lack of air or skill in the turns.

In both forms of competition, a high percentage of medals went to Helsinki. Congratulations to the champions and medalists.

The first buddy week of spring 27-31 January.

Bring a friend to your workouts!

During buddy week, you can include a friend in your own exercises, even if he has no previous experience in taekwondo or other physical activities.

A handsome haul of medals for Taekwondo athletes from the Norwegian PM competitions

In the PM competitions in Oslo, a tough level in both competition formats

The Nordic championships were hunted in Oslo on January 18. with nearly 500 athletes. The level of competition was tough, and especially in the business series, the series were big. The Finnish representation at the games was strong and so were the Taekwondo athletes. The performances of the athletes were also strong and the team's feeling was high.

Christian and Ville become champions in the business series

The business series competition didn't go completely smoothly in terms of arrangements, but this one didn't Christian's hindered the going. In freestyle, the competition against the Danes was tough, but Christian's performance did not leave anyone cold, and the judges also shared this opinion. The Nordic championship earned as a reward. The championship in the U30 individual series was extremely close as Christian finished second in a tie with Budokwa's Olli Siltanen, who won the series. However, the difference in presentation points turned the advantage to Olli's side. The series became a handsome triple victory for Finland, with Budkowai's Frans Salme grabbing the triple. The same trio also took silver in the U30 group series, so they each made quite a mark in the games. In the O30 series, the champion was declared Ville after high-quality and confident performances. Ville also won the second championship from the O30 group together with Vihti's Jeppe Aukio and Helsinki Taekwondo's Kim Reiman. A top performance from Ville as well.

The performances of the cadets of the trains were also excellent. Alina won a wonderful silver in the U17 freestyle, even though on the morning of the competition day it was still uncertain whether Alina would even be able to compete due to the injury. However, the performance was confident and the vaults and jump kicks were airy. The cadets' individual series were big, but this didn't stop them Alexia advancing all the way to bronze in cadet boys. The difference to second place wasn't big either. Alex reached too The only one with silver in cadet pairs. A familiar trio Bella, Vicky and Sophia also improved their last year's bronze to silver in the cadet girls' groups. The cadet girls' series was big and of a tough standard. Aino made it all the way to the final round, but fell short of the prize places. Luca made the first freestyle race performance of his life without prejudice in a big race in front of a big audience. The performance was great and the tricks were the best in the series, but the satisfaction was in this round instead of fifth.

The general appearance of the business series team was good, and one can especially be satisfied with how the athletes achieved good performances when the race day was delayed and the conditions became more and more uncertain due to equipment failures. A lot of high-level racers were left behind, so we can expect a successful racing season. The main goal of the spring season is the Danish World Championships organized in May for most of the competition team members. The next stage on the way towards this goal is the Joensuu SM competitions at the turn of January and February.

Gold for the match to Iines

On the side of the match, Iines won the brightest medal among the Taekwondo athletes, and even more so overwhelmingly. Iines won his match with clear point differences, and at no point was it unclear who would take the championship from the series. Also Severus was at a high speed when he took the wins in the opening round and in the semar against his Norwegian opponents. The tight twist in the opening lap in particular caused heart palpitations in the stands, but Severi's control of the situation held as well as the lead at the buzzer. In the final, he faced quite a technical genius, who deservedly won the gold. Severi's performances do promise good things going forward.

A boat stylishly cut and stacked his first two opponents to advance to the finals. Unfortunately, at the beginning, a few clear Main Hits were scoreless, and at the end, Venne couldn't really catch up to his match rhythm. Still, silver at the end of a great day. Janika again managed to get into his own rhythm, but still had to bow out in both matches of his pool series. Bring home a bronze.

They worked hard in the trains Plum and Lauri. Plum was able to wrestle even more after moving to the -68kg weight class. The first twist ended with Plum's stylish victory, but in the second the opponent pulled a longer stroke with a few good changes of rhythm. Lauri immediately faced the eventual winner of the series in the opening round and this time he was unable to match the Norwegian's moves. On the other hand, the match left the impression that on a good day the points could turn in Lauri's favor.

The next stage of the match team is also the Joensuu SC competition to be organized in a few weeks. Based on the PM games, the direction is right and you can go to the SM games with an open-minded and winning attitude.

    Congratulations to all medalists!

Taekwondo for everyone from baby to adult

The spring season of taekwondo athletes started on Monday, January 6. and in the gym you can immediately see a great flow and energy. It's good to start the season at this pace, because the competition teams start their season right at the beginning with the PM and SM competitions, and for the spring there are also tough foreign trips planned. Jenna's preparation for the Olympic qualifiers in April brings additional excitement to the spring training patterns. In the basic groups, we continue from where we left off in the fall, and with new enthusiasts we start with some of the basics.

A lot of interesting programs can be found in the training calendar, whether your goal is to improve your fitness or competitive sports. See you at the gym!

    For new enthusiasts

Check the practice times for your age group weekly schedule. Starting training is simple, and you can start at any time during the season:

    1. Arrive at the practice of your own elementary group. Bring equipment suitable for indoor exercise and a drinking bottle. Training takes place barefoot.
    2. At the gym, you will get a beginner's guide and a registration form. At the same time, you can participate in your first exercises.
    3. We will send an invoice for the training to your email. However, for the first two weeks you can get to know each other in peace without committing to continuing the hobby.

    Welcome aboard!

    For children's enthusiasts

The spring practice times are largely the same as in the fall, but you should still confirm the practice times of your own group from the schedule. If you haven't attended additional training yet, now is an excellent opportunity to do so, because in the spring, the children will have their own amateur match and an amateur sports series as new exercises, which are included in the price of the basic contract. In addition to this, you can also attend Saturday's general exercise training at no extra charge.

Children's hobby shop series: Thursdays 17-18
Children's amateur match: on Thursdays 18-19
    General exercise: on Saturdays 12-13

We recommend at least one additional deepening exercise per week from the green belt onwards.

    For adult enthusiasts

Training times for adults are still Tuesday, Thursday and Friday as usual. In addition to this, there are additional exercises for almost every day of the week.

    Hobbyist poomsae: Mon 18-19
    Amateur match: Thu 18-19
    Fitness circle: Tuesday 19-20
    Core: Thu 19-19:30
    Body care: Thu 20:30-21
    Free shift: Sat 13-14
    Kick workout: Sun 16-17

So no matter what your schedule is, you'd think you'd find suitable workouts. :)

For competitors and those interested in competing

Those interested in goal-oriented sports can find their own groups in Taekwondo athletes. There are training opportunities for competition groups every day of the week, and training in competition groups is intensive and goal-oriented. As a new exercise, a free shift is organized on Fridays from 17:00 to 20:00, when the hall is freely available for personal or joint training. If you are interested in joining competition groups, talk to your coach about it. New enthusiasts are constantly being recruited.

December's belt exams wrap up the fall season

Congratulations to all those who completed the new belt rank!

At the December belt tests for taekwondo athletes, new belt values were obtained by wholesale, ranging from the tiger mark for small children to black belt values. In the exams, the group members showed exactly the skills and things that we want to see in the belt exams, i.e. hard work and strong competence, without forgetting, of course, a twinkle in the corner of the eye.

The exam week started on Monday with the young children taking the tiger marks and dragon marks in the level test. It was easy for the participants and Fatima, who ran the exam, to be smiling after the exam after the great performances.

On Tuesday, it was a small but even more capable group of lower-class adults. The bar was crossed handsomely and especially the basics of power generation were well mastered in both hand and foot techniques.

On Thursday, Minna guided and Pauli took the exam for both the junior and senior group of adults. The test for the darker belt values was more than two hours long and Minna made sure that the sweat did not dry out. However, after an intensive set, it was easy to award the belts to the group.

Friday was a super day for children's belt tests, when approximately 80 children and young people passed the new belt value in four different tests under the watchful eye of Paul and Minna. The kids didn't let up the momentum and the weekend was able to start with a new belt value in plakar.

As the icing on the cake, Teemu and Petteri received the DAN values test on Saturday. Experience the whole range of genres, and in the end, with feedback, it didn't take less than eight hours. In addition, the teacher ratings gave teaching displays along the test. New DAN values were performed all the way from the first degree belt all the way to vitos.

The search for spring coach training for taekwondo athletes is underway

Are you a coach for Taekwondo athletes?

Taekwondo athletes started a new type of coach training in the fall of 2019, where the main focus of the training is on practical guidance under the guidance of mentors who have coached for longer. The training went well and the next basic level training will start in the spring. If you have at least a red belt and are at least 16 years old, you are welcome to join the training. Ask more at the gym, send an email or read an older article about training from here.

New coaches for Taekwondo athletes from fall training

A total of 7 coach trainees passed the autumn coaching training, a large part of which will be seen in real action as soon as the spring season begins. Congratulations to the new coaches and welcome to join the ranks of coaches!

    Spring practice times

The spring practice times can be found now from the practice times page.

As a rule, practice times remain the same, but small changes are made to optimize coach resources and group sizes.

Please note that both the amateur match and the amateur sports series have been established for children as new enthusiasts on Thursdays, which are included in the price of the basic training. You shouldn't miss these workouts. The most enthusiastic trainers certainly join the competition teams.

There may still be changes to practice times.
