Pauli Raivio, instructor of taekwondo athletes, completed a new belt rank
Pauli on the stairs.
At the beginning of September, TU11 took a big step forward when Pauli Raivio started as a paid coach and secretary in our club.
Natural selection
"Pauli's contribution has already been significant as an assistant director in our club before. When the workload has increased significantly as the club grows, we wanted to hire an employee to maintain the service level. Pauli was a natural choice, he has made an impression with his attitude and skills," states the club's vice president Sampo Pajulampi.
Overseeing and taking care of daily affairs

Master Muni's visit started yesterday and continues today.
A rather modest-sized group of enthusiasts was seen at the exercises. They were able to enjoy the training, where the basics were polished to the last detail.
"Nice training!", says Kasper Wargelin, the youngest participant of the training.
Korean Master Lee, who lives in Barcelona, also took part in the training.

Master Mun is visiting our gym!
Somewhat unexpectedly, we got the opportunity to bring the future head teacher of taekwondo festivals and a long-time taekwondo influencer, Master Mun Dong Kun, to the Hall of Taekwondo Athletes.
Master Mun will teach at our gym on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. We will modify the schedules of these days a little so that we can get to the master's teachings with the whole group.
Master Mun represents the generation that has spread taekwondo to the world, and this can also be seen in the master's own work. He has taken care not only of the quality of his teaching, but also of his own condition. The technology is still at the top level despite its age.
The master's exercises cost €5 per person/exercise. At this price, you rarely get to train in this level of teaching. The master's exercises are intended for our club's own enthusiasts.
Nothing but everyone eager to train and have fun. In Tieto, Takuu has an unforgettable training experience for participants. See you in training!

Right now is a great time to start practicing taekwondo. Finland's top association, Taekwondourheilijat 2011 ry organizes two open days, where anyone can get to know the sport by watching, trying and asking questions. The club's instructors are there to talk about the sport, the club and training, so the answers to mind-boggling questions can be found in Helsinki's Konala, Ruosilankuja 3 C in a row on Saturday 31 August 2013 and 7 September 2013. The doors open at 10:00 and are open until four, longer if there are enough people interested. In the future, e.g. introductory training opportunities, competitions, raffle for training months, etc. And serving coffee and juice - of course!
There is no bad age to start taekwondo, the sport is suitable for everyone. Small children learn general physical skills, and with seniors we go at a calm, but still developing pace. For the young and enthusiastic, our club offers fast-paced training and learning to compete under the leadership of our country's most successful taekwondo athletes. In our club, there are many families, where both children of different ages and parents enthusiastically pursue their own goals. So don't worry, start taekwondo now!
Taekwondo athletes organize a series of indoor competitions
The most enthusiastic ones have already asked, because the next indoor competition will be organized. Taekwondo athletes will organize a series of indoor competitions during the fall of 2013 at their gym in Konala. The next indoor competitions will be held on August 27. and these competitions open the autumn indoor competition season. The indoor competitions are still held on Tuesdays, and the competitions start as usual at 17:00 with the children's and young people's mittelös and continue with the adults' tohino from 19:00 onwards.
Everyone is more than welcome to challenge and accept challenges. In the spring, it was really nice to see enthusiasts of other sports also trying out their skills in a taekwondo match.
¨For TU11 enthusiasts, the gym competition is included in the normal training fees, others are charged a participation fee of ten euros.
Dates of indoor competitions
27.8.2013
17.9.2013
15.10.2013
19.11.2013
17.12.2012
The dates can also be found in the club's calendar.
Terho made the most of the indoor competitions for taekwondo athletes.
Sophia Vassilaki is training in Greece in the summer. The first week passed Kiriakos Parasidis in the gym, under the guidance of assistant coach Haralambos Balaskas. The club's name is Peristeri and a large group of top Greek cadets and juniors train there, as the brightest star Stavroula Kontou, who took silver at last year's European Youth Championships in Zagreb.
"Really tough and skilled girls who train hard. There is no money for foreign competitions. In Bulgaria, they had won gold in at least two classes," says Laura Vassilaki, after watching the exercises for a week. Below are pictures of the exercises taken by Laura.
Next, Sophia will continue training on the island of Kos, where she started her training.
There was enough buzz in Konala's gym and the surrounding area at the beginning of June, when TU11's first taekwondo day camp gathered 12 juniors to train, play and hang out together on June 3-7. A video was also shot at the camp, which will be shown when finished.
Each day's program included two guided taekwondo exercises, shared meals and outdoor activities. During the week, kicks, pooms, basic technique and acrobatics were practiced, and on Friday the camp culminated in mini-competitions, where they competed in pairs or groups in the skills part, pooms and matches. At the fastest, front kicks hit mits in 34 fifteen seconds, and even for a jump kick, the slap had to be held while sitting on the shoulders. In Pooms, we saw some great couples
individual performances and in the match the cheers were amazing and the distances were just right!
