Essi for places 9.-16. In Peru

Essi Labart and Christian Kamphuis represented Finland at the business series World Championships in Peru in the country's capital, Lima, from September 29 to October 2, 2016.

Essi competed in the individual series on Saturday. For the first time, all over 18-year-old individual series were contested with a single elimination system (cup scheme). An opponent is drawn for the contestants and the better of the two advances to the next round. In the first round, the representative of Croatia faced each other. Essi performed at his own top level against Croatia. Croatia fell behind and Essi advanced to the quarterfinals. The next opponent was the experienced Gabriella Coffa from Holland. Good performances were not enough to drop the Dutchman, so Essi's final ranking was: 9th-16th.

Essi and Christian competed in the under-30 doubles category. Despite their solid performances, the pair unfortunately missed the semi-final spot. The doubles series was conducted using the cut-off method, which means that based on the points from the first qualifying round, half of the competing teams make it to the semi-finals, and correspondingly, the eight best of the semi-finals advance to the finals. Also in the final, the scores of all competitors are compared to each other, and the winner is decided based on the scores.

In addition to the pairs series, Christian also competed in the individual freestyle. The series took place on Sunday. The number of freestyle competitors has grown tremendously, and this time there were 23 competitors in the over 18-year-old men's individual series. Christian's warm-up went well, but unfortunately on the competition stage, the lactic acids got the better of him and Christian had to drop kicks from acrobatic movements, which resulted in a considerable penalty for points. The eight-person final place that took place in the evening remained a dream this time.

The level of the competition was tough, although the Finns took an amazing two bronzes, from the women's +30 group series and the women's -40 series.
