The belt exams in May wrap up the spring season

Congratulations to those who completed the new belt rank

The belt exams in May have traditionally been the biggest of the year for Taekwondo athletes, and this year didn't disappoint either. The new belt rank was completed by 83 trainees ranging from the 10th KUP tiger mark to the 1st KUP black ribbon. Even next Sunday, we can get excited about the performance of four poom experiments.

Thank you again to all who participated in the belt exams and to the coaches! This is a good place to start summer training. Remember to train hard in the summer as well, because already in August is the next chance to increase your belt value.

Success from the Korso Games with a lap shop

The business league team's spring season ended wonderfully in Korso

Korso's business series competition packages the spring competitions of the business series league. The team of taekwondo athletes has reaped success in one competition after another, and the trend continued even now. I promise you good luck with the SC championships in mind! Coach Heikki reports on the competitions:

”Korson liikesarjakilpailut sujuivat TU:lta mallikkaasti!

In junior girls, Tara Tuokko, who recently moved to the ranks of TU, achieved a silver medal in her series, even though a small leg problem hindered her kicking a little.

In the amateur series, Marita Jaakkola (Women in red and black) and Maija Mansikkala (Women in blue) did solid performances, but narrowly missed out on medals."

Score:

Gold:

U17 group – Sara Quinones (TU11), Aino Kortelainen (TU11), Helmi Riuttala (Pori)
U30 group – Elina Tikkanen (TU11), Linda Räkköläinen (HIPKO), Nea Säynäjoki (Tampere Keumgang)

Emmi as the winning chicken in Ikaalis

Emmi found an excellent competitive spirit in Ikaalis

The Ikaali competition was the last match event before the WC competitions in July. The taekwondo athletes were on the move with an exceptionally small team, when there was only Emmi with her coach Mari in the medal hunt. Most of the rest of the team was camping in Konala at the same time.

Emmi's series was one of the biggest league series of the competition, so no free medals were given out. However, Emmi didn't leave much to worry about when she scored 20-3 in the first match and 17-3 in the next. The final was already more even, but Emmi left the mat as the winner! It is very good to continue towards the WC.

Summer practice times 28.5. from

We also practice in the summer

Summer is the best time to train, when the pressure from school and work eases. The gym for taekwondo athletes is also open in the summer, albeit with a slightly lighter calendar. In July, we will be completely closed for a few weeks and the instructors will be airing out in the summer pastures.

  • All groups have one less basic practice than in the spring season. Instead, everyone over the age of 12 is offered hill training as usual on Malminkartano's Jätemäki. The training is intense.
  • Exercise groups have been combined by age group. In the summer, training is focused on repetitions and features, so that everyone keeps up and still gets challenges that suit them.
  • Summer break is celebrated 9.7.-31.7. Two extra camps will be organized over the summer for everyone who has a valid training contract. One before the summer break and one after the break.
  • The training amounts of the competition groups remain unchanged. Morning workouts are arranged separately before the end of school. Amateur competitors join the Wednesday practice, which is designed to suit everyone. Those who have been in the children's match group participate in the training of the competition group.
