Teemu Heino to Urhea's management team
The chairman of TU11, Teemu Heino, has been elected Brave to the management team.
"This is a significant matter not only for our club, but also for Finnish taekwondo as a whole", states TU11 vice-chairman and board member of the Finnish Taekwondo Association, Sampo Pajulampi, and continues: "Sports academies are central Olympic Committee in the future strategy and the sports academy in the capital region already has a special importance because of the wide population base".
Previously, Teemu has worked as a member and chairman of the athletes' committee of the Finnish Olympic Committee and of the EOC as a member of the athletes' committee and the technical committee. In addition, he has held positions of trust, e.g. In Kokemäki Taekwondo club and in the Finnish Taekwondo Association.
The capital region's sports academy Urhea is a cooperation network started in 2003 that helps athletes to combine sports and civilian careers. At the same time, it supports high-quality and versatile training on an ethically sustainable basis. Alongside studying and coaching, the third key goal is to network the support services needed by athletes and coaches into an easily accessible support network.
At the beginning of 2010, Urhea included 1,570 athletes, of which 82 are so-called athletes of Olympic level, i.e. 1st level. There are 345 national team level athletes (2nd level) and more than 1143 challenger level athletes (3rd level). There are more than 20 sports, as well as secondary and higher education institutions. Support services are provided by a wide group of experts in various fields. The cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa are also included.

Good mood at the match camp
A taekwondo match is of interest to all ages
On the first day of December, the gym of Taekwondo athletes was bustling, when 28 enthusiastic taekwondo enthusiasts from all sides of the age and experience spectrum sweated for three and a half hours in match training.
The theme of the day was distances in a taekwondo match. In the first practice, different distances were used from a tactical point of view - what things should be taken into account in the distances of an offensive match and a defensive match. In the second exercise, different distances of the techniques were reviewed, from long "runner attacks" to the technique of clinch distances. In the third training, the aforementioned things were applied.
The day was rewarding from the instructors' point of view, and the direct feedback received from the campers comfortably supported this observation. Thanks to all the campers! The events of the beginning of 2013 will be announced on these pages, so it's worth checking back from time to time.
