Timeline of taekwondo athletes on the homepage
Timeline of taekwondo athletes on the homepage

All events relevant to the club will be marked on the timeline:

  • match competitions and business series competitions (domestic and foreign)
  • camps (for enthusiasts, competitors, coaches)
  • trainings (own trainings, Union trainings)
  • belt tests for all training groups

In every event we try to add all the necessary information related to taoaht, but if something is left in doubt, you can ask the coaches for advice. However, please don't come and ask before you have checked whether the answer to your question can be found on the timeline :)

The purpose of the timeline is to facilitate the activities of all club members in connection with competitions, camps and belt tests, and the timeline will be updated diligently. Use, practice and give feedback! If the timeline works, then it will be kept in use, but if it seems that it is not working, then we will go back to the old system or come up with something new!

Sports license of the Taekwondo Association

Go and order the 2017 license in good time

You should order the 2017 taekwondo license from here so you can enjoy the benefits all year. Taekwondo athletes want to be a strong factor in developing the Finnish taekwondo world, which is why we recommend a license to all our enthusiasts. In addition, together with the license, you can buy an accident insurance that is completely tailored to the sport, which we recommend to everyone whose own insurance does not cover injuries that occur during training. So everyone go and order a license; won't it be the biggest Finnish taekwondo club this year as well? :)

Instructions and a link to the order service can be found at:

http://www.suomentaekwondoliitto.fi/harrastajille/lajilisenssi/

Why get a license?

With the license you get:

  • The right to participate in the events of the Finnish Taekwondo Federation (camps, competitions, etc. events). In connection with obtaining a license, it is also recommended to purchase accident insurance from OP Insurance.
  • The association's member magazine 4 times/year mailed to your home (excl. one-time license)
  • We aim to organize discounts on the products and services of our partners.
  • The right to participate in the belt tests of Taekwondo athletes

Essi and Aino in great company at the US Open

This time, Ess and Aino's race trip went a little further away from home, all the way to Las Vegas. The four-day G2-level US Open gathered taekwondo elites from around the world, so Aino and Essi were able to perform in quite a tough company. Although there were no medals this time, the experience was unforgettable and, judging by the race team's reports, it was definitely the last one on the American continent.

Below is Essi's report from the Games:

"The US Open is over for us this year and today we are going home. The competitions were really big, more than 2000 participants. Nevertheless, the arrangements work well. There was some adjustment with schedules and overlaps, but otherwise everything worked well.

On the same day, Aino took part in the match and movement sets, and after her second match, she was able to run almost straight to the stage to perform. Despite that, Aino managed to continue. Aino doesn't want to go to the finaldespite the rites, unfortunately made it. Even in that series, the level is wild. In the match, Aino won her first match nicely and got into the top eight. The opponent of the second match managed to win the points with his escaping style. The referees' actions could be criticized a little, at least from the eyes of a poomsa athlete, but it just has to be so good that nobody manages to win even with such a game. Suvi Mikkonen acted as Aino's coach in the match and the joint play seemed to work well.

The linear under-30 series was a complete battle and the charts published the night before looked really good in terms of progression. Half an hour before the start of the series, the charts were unexpectedly changed and I got the USA World Cup representative as my first opponent. A really tough opponent dampened the mood a bit, but on the other hand it also gave the freedom to shoot at full blast without any backup. In that sense, I was able to perform hard, although I didn't manage to beat my opponent. Well, you just have to be so good that you can beat anyone. :)"

Tuikku played against Greece's Effrosyni Kaltsi 1-2. The match was scoreless and one unclear hold warning turned the match for the Greek.

Christian wearing a gold medal in Paris

Together with Olli Siltanen and Frans Salme, Christian Kamphuis took gold from the ranking games in Paris in the series group U-30. Christian and Essi's season opening in the individual series was good, but not quite enough for the final rounds.

The race gave a good impression of the starting season, as there were more than 500 participants.

There will be no taekwondo classes in Kalajärvi in the spring of 2017

Unfortunately, due to the quiet autumn and low number of registrations, no taekwondo course will be held at Kalajärvi school in spring 2017. Kalajärvi enthusiasts are warmly welcome to practice in Konala. The autumn 2017 course will be mapped separately at the end of the summer.

Black belt Jannet

Fresh black belts and the examiner after the belt exam

New taekwondo dans to Konala

20.12.2016 in the 1st dan exams held at the taekwondo athletes' gym successfully fought for their belts Jannet Wargelin and Trap. The roughly four-hour exam began Essi Labartin in connection with movement series training with warm-up and kicking technique, from which the test continued in a private lodge with basic technique and movement series. The basic techniques were quite comprehensively reviewed one by one, after which the technique was done while moving in the form. The basic technique was followed by the business series part. After that, the trainees were able to show their steering skills by pulling the warm-ups of adult enthusiasts' training, after which they moved on to the fast-paced step fight and self-defense section. During the small physical Huil, the written part of the exam was completed.

Three hours from the start of the test, we got to measure the mental and physical edge for the match technique part, the warm-ups of which were again handled by the belt coilers. Petteri Kauppinen had come to the place face to face to make sure that the kokela's match part wasn't exactly dancing with thornless roses. In the match part, both old school and new age techniques were reviewed, and finally, of course, we sparred - belt coils also in two-on-one mode. After four hours, we still had to fight against fatigue and cramps in the jumping kick part, and at the end of the test we did the "crushings", which this time were applicable due to the lack of material, but measured competence and power output at a sufficient level.

After the hall had already quieted down for the night, cramps were massaged, test feedback was given, a beautiful but manly barren belt ceremony was held, and the accompanying portrait was taken with a self-timer. The examiner congratulates the new black belts, Jan-Eric Wargelinia and Janne Ritaa, about passing the dan exam with flying colors. The level of competence clearly exceeded the black belt criteria, although there was still room for improvement in a few areas. The measures to correct the "weaknesses" were initially reviewed, and in the next test, the gentlemen are allowed to expect an even more complete whole and a tougher performance.

The test was evaluated and the article was written by:
