Black belt Jannet

Fresh black belts and the examiner after the belt exam
Fresh black belts and the examiner after the belt exam

New taekwondo dans to Konala

20.12.2016 in the 1st dan exams held at the taekwondo athletes' gym successfully fought for their belts Jannet Wargelin and Trap. The roughly four-hour exam began Essi Labartin in connection with movement series training with warm-up and kicking technique, from which the test continued in a private lodge with basic technique and movement series. The basic techniques were quite comprehensively reviewed one by one, after which the technique was done while moving in the form. The basic technique was followed by the business series part. After that, the trainees were able to show their steering skills by pulling the warm-ups of adult enthusiasts' training, after which they moved on to the fast-paced step fight and self-defense section. During the small physical Huil, the written part of the exam was completed.

Three hours from the start of the test, we got to measure the mental and physical edge for the match technique part, the warm-ups of which were again handled by the belt coilers. Petteri Kauppinen had come to the place face to face to make sure that the kokela's match part wasn't exactly dancing with thornless roses. In the match part, both old school and new age techniques were reviewed, and finally, of course, we sparred - belt coils also in two-on-one mode. After four hours, we still had to fight against fatigue and cramps in the jumping kick part, and at the end of the test we did the "crushings", which this time were applicable due to the lack of material, but measured competence and power output at a sufficient level.

After the hall had already quieted down for the night, cramps were massaged, test feedback was given, a beautiful but manly barren belt ceremony was held, and the accompanying portrait was taken with a self-timer. The examiner congratulates the new black belts, Jan-Eric Wargelinia and Janne Ritaa, about passing the dan exam with flying colors. The level of competence clearly exceeded the black belt criteria, although there was still room for improvement in a few areas. The measures to correct the "weaknesses" were initially reviewed, and in the next test, the gentlemen are allowed to expect an even more complete whole and a tougher performance.

The test was evaluated and the article was written by:

Taekwondo athletes were successful in the match league

The final scores of the 2016 match league have been published

The 2016 match league was wrapped up in the Parainen league finals at the end of November. The association published the final total points and series points now, although of course the winners already received their trophies in connection with the league finals. Taekwondo athletes was the third most successful match club. The second place could not have been closer, with Turku Budokwai Taekwondo only one point ahead in the total points. Euran Yong taekwondo won the combined points competition with a clear difference to the following.

Taekwondo athletes were particularly strongly represented in the cadet series. Plum won no less than two league championships from the cadets' -41 and -45 series. Hannes won the -49 series by solving a tight and even tighter twist to his name in the league finals. Eddie, on the other hand, easily won the -57 kg category. In the girls, Aino won the -33 series with a clear point difference and came second in the -29 series. Emmi's victory in the girls' -51 series was also clear. There were no wins in B-junnu and adults, but there were places. As the younger age group grows, even those series start to fill up with Taekwondo athletes and first placers.

Congratulations again to all the league medalists!

The December belt exams were held

41 new belt values from the December belt exams

The tension was palpable in the gym on Wednesday 14.12. when all junnu groups had a belt test day. As usual, the excitement turned from the first crab walks into a good cheer and hard concentration. On the children's side, Jenna and Riina awarded tiger badges to four hard-working trainers and a dragon badge to one. In the belt test, the children showed their best skills, and the badges were certainly earned at the end of an intensive hour. On the other side of the curtain, Pauli supervised first the test for yellow and green ribbons and then the test for upper belt grades. Pauli was very satisfied with the skills of both groups. On Thursday, a small group of adults took their test under Sampo's supervision, and the bar was easily crossed by the whole group.

Congratulations to everyone on their new belt ranks!

The season was nicely wrapped up in Paraini

The competition season was decided in the Parainen league finals on November 26, 2016 in the match and business series. The taekwondo athletes were represented by a familiar power group, and the rankings once again tell their own happy story.

The business league team's fierce competitive spirit continued

It was easy for coach Essi Labarti to smile when the poomsaeminions grabbed at least their share of the trophies on the table. The carrying capacity of Aino's bag was put to the test when he brought home gold from all four business series representations. In the individual series, Aino took care of the blue-skinned hobbyists and blue-skinned lynx series, and in the doubles series she won the gold with Espoo Hwarang Team's Mia Knutsson. Mia was also with Aino and Bella as part of the gold team in the amateur groups. In addition to all this, Aino had time to win her series on the match side and hurriedly returned to the business series field, winged by the fast upper femmes. Plum, Sofia and Bella won silver in their individual series, but it was extremely difficult for Plum in particular. The joint points with series winner Daniel Halonen from Pori were almost the same, but this time the victory for Halones was greater presentationwith points. Range of motion training continues at least as determinedly as it did in the fall until now. In the spring season, hardly anyone has a doubt where Finland's toughest business series competitors come from!

Great series wins and tight turns in the match

In the match, Taekwondo athletes had 11 representations, six of which were series victories. Henri opened the day with a cheerful match movement and good insights. Unfortunately, the points were limited due to the opponent's good protection, and Henri had to bow out. Big brother Lauri won his own series with two really great match wins. Lauri's understanding of the basic structure of the match and the utilization of point positions has developed enormously during the fall, and today I was able to reap the harvest of hard work. Sofia competed in two series in addition to her poomsae performances. Someone could even think that there are more Sofias when there was enough speed for the whole day from end to end of the competition hall. For Sofia, a loss in her second set, but an excellent fight win in the second set in the overtime. Janika, on the other hand, took silver with her familiar precise and tactical game. In the final, the package stayed together well, but the opponent still did not allow themselves to take points, so a tight 1-0 loss. Venne showed again that retreating is not part of the fighter's vocabulary. Forward movement combined with hard kicking power was Venne's recipe for series victory.

In the league series, Plum was the workhorse of the day with two series appearances. For Plum, a win in his second series and a tickling tight loss in the second final in the overtime. Plum's ability to stay focused and stick to his own game plan will go a long way. Plum himself was disappointed by the final loss, but the two league championships warmed his heart a lot. Emmi had to admit Tampere's Sini Lehto as better this time and the ranking is therefore third. Hannes showed in both of his matches what the will to win means. Hannes was in control from start to finish in the first, but the final was extremely smooth and eventful all the way to the overtime. The cheering crowd's heartbeats were at the same level as the competitors' heartbeats when the decisive point appeared on the scoreboard next to Hannes. A couple of painful hits outside the scoring area were quickly forgotten when Hannes claimed not only the tournament but also the entire league victory in his series.

The overall awards of the match league were also distributed in Paraini, but they will be reported separately when the official results are announced.

Taekwondo athletes congratulate all the medalists! This is a good way to end the season and start preparing for the next one.

Emmi plum

p.s. The stick Emmi is holding is the award for the best match team of the Ambassador's Cup, which was awarded just now.

The last indoor competitions of the fall on Friday 9.12.

The last indoor competitions of the autumn season are held on Friday 9.12.

Participation is free for everyone, and you do not need to register separately. Competitors from outside the club are also warmly welcome.

17:00-19:00 – E, D, and C2

19:00-21:00 – C1, B1, A1 and H (can be started on a rolling basis even earlier at the end of the junnum races)

If you are not sure which group you should join, feel free to contact the coaches. In particular, it is worth asking for the larger C2 shunts if more suitable resistors could be found in a later shift. We encourage all new enthusiasts to participate in the games, even if they don't even know what competing means. The first time you can look at the moods or even try it yourself if you feel like it.

You can borrow the missing protectors from the club, but we recommend everyone to buy their own training protectors. Ask more from the gym's equipment store and coaches.

Note! No other exercises will be organized on the day of the Salika competition.
