Gold for Christian from Austria

Christian dropped quite a bomb by grabbing gold in the extremely tough U30 series of the Austrian G1 Championships on 17 June 2017.

Christian left behind a whole line of business series giants of the moment. There were e.g. the reigning European champion Joachim Wien and Joel van der Weiden fell in the final, who is the European champion of sleds from the last European Championships. Christian also knocked out this year's European doubles champion Benjamin Hellegaard Harden.

Aino excelled in the children's series, taking silver in her individual series and gold in pairs and groups, where Aino complemented the team of her Austrian training friends.

Warm congratulations to both of them for their amazing performances!

The adult belt test wraps up the spring season

The belt test for the adult groups was held in the last week of the spring training period and thus served as a suitable conclusion to the hard training of the spring. In the test, new belt values were performed this time especially by high-strung enthusiasts. The test was received by Sampo Pajulampi, who had little to criticize about the performance of the group or individuals.

The club congratulates everyone on the new belt values!

Takamäki is calling again

A sure sign of summer is that the dreaded "hill" appears in the training calendar of Taekwondo athletes. In hill training, as the name suggests, you run repeatedly up the full hill of Malminkartano using either stairs or paths. Training emphasis changes during the summer and as fitness increases. We recommend the training to everyone who wants to increase their fitness, especially if hill training is still missing from the experience bank.

For the first time, we will go for hill training as a joint start in Salita on Wednesday, June 7. at 18:30 From now on, the exercises start directly on the hill at the bottom of the stairs.

Belt tests for children and young people in a package

New belt values at the flea market

There was plenty of excitement in the gym of taekowntour athletes on Wednesday 24.5. when no less than four belt exams followed each other. In the first shift, the white-clad players got to taste their first belt test and performed excellently all the techniques and additional challenges required in the test. In the next turn, the hall was absolutely packed, when the gnomes hunting for green ribbons and belts of the same color showed their skills. Meanwhile, on the other side of the hall, a group of young children earned their tiger and dragon badges. The last test of the evening lasted a full two hours, but it was not an overwhelming challenge for the upper belts.

Good luck to all new belt ranks!

Indoor competitions on Friday 26.5.

Friday 26.5. Indoor competitions of taekwondo athletes

Participation is free for everyone, and you do not need to register separately. The turn of adults and cadets is part of the national team list of the Finnish Taekwondo Association, and we hope to have as many competitors as possible who are already participating in the camp.

17:00-19:00 – E, D, and C2 (7-12-year-olds and 12-14-year-old beginners)

19:00-21:00 – C1, B1, B2, R1 and H (12-14-year-old cadets, +15-year-olds)

Note! Exceptionally in 5-6 year olds is not skill competition this time due to the national team player.

If you are not sure which group you should join, feel free to contact the coaches. In particular, larger C2 boats and those planning to transfer to cadet series should ask if more suitable resistors can be found in a later shift. We encourage all new enthusiasts to participate in the games, even if they don't even know what competing means. The first time you can look at the moods or even try it yourself if you feel like it.

E-armors are used for the shift starting at 19:00. Your own E-socks are therefore highly recommended if you want to fight with electric armor. There are also a few loaner socks in different sizes.

You can borrow the missing protectors from the club, but we encourage everyone to buy their own training protectors, which are regularly needed in training as well. Ask more from the gym's equipment store and coaches.

No other exercises will be organized on the day of the Salika competition.
