Jarmo J. Soila is gone

Jarmo J. Soila was a key Finnish taekwondo influencer who served on the boards of both WTF and ETU, as chairman of the Finnish Taekwondo Association and honorary chairman of Finland, as well as in numerous other positions of trust in the sport.

The Finnish State Sports Council awarded Soila a cross of merit for his work for sports.

"Jarmo was a very nice, warm and wise man, whom it was an honor to get to know not only as chairman of the Association, but also as my friend's father. Jarmo was always encouraging and even had time to visit our gym in Konala to push our newly started team forward," says Teemu Heino, president of Taekwondo athletes.

"Jarmo was a strong influencer in the Finnish Taekwondo Association when I started my career in sports positions of trust. He was a warm and encouraging person and a gentleman in his manners. I learned a lot while traveling with him in value competitions and participating especially in the activities of ETU. With his help, I made my first international contacts, and I have Jarmo to thank for the fact that Master Mun acts as my teacher. I want to express my condolences to Jarmo's family," continues the club's vice president Sampo Pajulampi.
