The Lohja Open opened the business series league season
The taekwondo athletes' movement series team hunted for medals with great success at the Lohja Open. What made the competition particularly interesting was that Bella, Vickan and Sofia, who had made a clear mark in the lynx series, made their debut in the cadet series against tougher opponents with an even wider menu of movement series. A little tension was visible e.g. in that, while still warming up, we thought about the sequences of the techniques of the recently learned movement sequences.
However, the tension was not reflected in the competition performance, but the work was sure and the team's overall mood was particularly positive. The team's mutual encouragement and team spirit garnered praise from the coaches Laura and Petter. Laura also competed herself and took bronze in the U40 women's category. In cadet boys, both second and third place went to taekwondo athletes, with Plum taking silver and Alex immediately following with bronze. Plum's silver streak was continued in the pairs series, where the medal was won with EHT's Mia Knutsson. Bella's cadet career got off to a great start when the day's performances were rewarded with a bronze medal. Similarly, the power trio of Bella, Vickan and Sofia was once again successful by coming second in the U17 groups. In the U30 groups, Elina took gold with Nea Säynäjoki (Tampere Kumgang) and Linda Räkköläinen (HIPKO). Maija also styled to victory in the green belt women's series.
As mentioned, the coaches were very satisfied with the team's performance and the development from the last games was again clearly visible. A few technical mistakes were also visible, and Laura reminded the importance of concentration in all techniques, including bows and shouts in every exercise.
Big congratulations to all the medalists!
