The poom test crowned the belt test week for Taekwondo athletes

Excellent level in the Poom exam!

In Konala, we got to witness the results of determined training as Sara Quinones, Bella Buuri, Victoria Hentunen and Iines Korhonen showed their skills in the poom test. For enthusiasts under 15 years old, the Poom rank corresponds to the DAN rank, i.e. black belt.

Sara already completed the 3rd Poom value and the other test takers are doing the 1st Poom. The test day was the culmination of years of determined and hard work, and the test subjects really showed that a lot of lessons have been learned along the way.

The test started in the morning with Petter's intensive technique section, where the entire spectrum of taekwondo techniques was reviewed, from kicks to hand techniques and steps. There was enough speed in the test as well as the trialists, and even the intense kick rallies did not freeze the trialists.

After the technical part, the trainees demonstrated their knowledge of the sport in the theory test and at the same time gathered strength for the afternoon wrestling part.

The test continued with Paul's fighting part, where the test takers' ability to apply technique was tested in the form of step fights, self-defense and a taekwondo match. At the end, speed was still sought with jump kicks and smashes.

At the end of the day, it was easy for Paul and Petter to say that the performance was excellent throughout, and all the test takers had earned their belts. One milestone has now been completed, but there are still many challenges ahead

Big congratulations to the new Poom values and good luck with your future training!

Excellent level in the belt tests throughout the week

In addition to the Poom tests, all age groups, except for small children, completed another belt test last week under the watchful eye of Paul and Minna.

On Tuesday, new belt values were completed by adults and young yellow belts and green belts. The level of the group was amazing and I strongly recommend everyone to actively participate in additional exercises in the future, such as the amateur movement series and match. The intensive training was reflected in the performances.

the same can be said about the test for superior children on Wednesday and the test for superior youth and adults on Thursday. The basic level was high, but those who have actively delved deeper into the aspects of the sport beyond the basic training were able to excel.

On Friday, Minna received the groups of yellow and green ribbons. Again, the performances were great, although there was a little fumbling in the movement sequences. All you have to do is bravely participate in Tuesday's amateur movement series training, where poomsae are actively practiced.

Congratulations to everyone on their new belt ranks!
