How do you get to the belt exams?

You can get to the belt exams by collecting enough practice marks from the previous belt exam. We calculate training visits based on recorded workouts, so remember to log your exercise every time you go to the gym. Participation in video training sessions must be reported separately as a compiled list to the address before the exams info@tu11.fi.main.hoste.fi.

The prerequisite for entering the exam is also that you know the things required in the exam at a sufficient level and follow the rules of conduct in the gym during the exercises.

You do not need to register for the exam in advance. However, please let us know if you are not going to participate in the exam after receiving the invitation.

What is required in the belt test

In the belt exam, you need to know the technical requirements of the exam and the sets of movements. The requirements of the previous exams also still have to be mastered. You can find the technical requirements in the training instructions on the hall wall.

We are currently updating the belt test requirements. After the update work, they will also be available in electronic form.

How should you prepare for the exams?

The best preparation for the exam is to attend training actively and versatile. For example, enthusiasts who emphasize match training should also attend basic training from time to time, and correspondingly, those training in basic hobby groups should deepen their skills in the form of match training and movement sets.

Movement sets should be practiced especially well, because they gather almost all the techniques required in the exam and embody the ability of the enthusiast to rhythm the techniques and generate strength in them. After learning a new movement sequence, repeat it as much as possible.

In the weeks before the exam, movement sets are also repeated more than usual in training.

Bronze for Aino from the hard level Lents Open

Aino took bronze in the hard level 4th Lents Taekwondo Worldwide Sports Online Poomsae Open competition. There were 25 participants in Aino's cadet series from all over the world. Winning the medal required three top rounds, and Aino did not disappoint in this regard. 

The club congratulates Aino on his wonderful performance.

Marita also cleared her way to the final round, but this time her performance was not enough for medals.

In April, those over the age of 13 trained completely remotely due to the corona restrictions. We published a live training competition, where the enthusiasts who collected the most workouts are rewarded with Pro Dobok Finland gift cards.

Take advantage of the training opportunities during the lockdown!

Southern Finland AVI continued its policy regarding the closure of private sports facilities until the end of April. Those born in 2008 and later are still allowed to continue training in the gym, but the parents train remotely. Please check your own training times if necessary:

Live training competition

Guided live workouts are organized on Zoom every evening from Monday to Thursday. The exercises are designed for enthusiasts over the age of 12, but younger people can participate.

Those who participated in the live workouts the most will win great prizes, which are offered by the equipment store Pro Dobok, which operates in connection with the gym.

The coaches will pick up the participants during the training, so remember to write your correct name when participating in the training.

LIVE WORKOUTS

Daily quick workouts and live workouts

We publish a new day's quick workout almost every weekday at 3 pm on our website, Facebook and YouTube channel. Quick workouts are approximately 10-minute workouts that can be done anytime and anywhere. The workouts are suitable for both beginners and experts.

There will be surprise prizes for those who did the most speed workouts. Enthusiasts report after the bracket how many quick workouts they did. To participate in the quick workouts, you have to prepare to testify by answering a few easy questions about the topics of the workouts.

In addition to this, we continue to compile a virtual training bank on our website.

VIRTUAL LESSONS

Book a private lesson or a hall for your own use

In accordance with AVI's decision, the hall is closed. However, the ban does not apply to family events. You can reserve area 1 for the use of your family living in the same household, if your family has a valid internship contract for a person born in 2007 or earlier. You can book two hours in a row, but only once a week. Bookable hours are checked in the system. Area 1 is accessed through the HAC corridor door.

It is also possible to organize private lessons. Book private lessons by arranging an hour with the coach, and then reserve the gym for your use.

During private reservations, the use of equipment is allowed, but please remember to disinfect them at the end of the training.

Note! anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible guardian.

AVI's instruction

"The space can be rented for private use within the scope of private and family life. Such use is, for example, using the space to organize birthday parties or weddings. For example, the scope of private and family life does not include sports team practices or the use of the gym with strangers, even if the space has been rented by a private person.

The regional administrative agency cannot precisely define the maximum allowed number of employees. The private person who rented the space can bring a personal trainer or other private teacher with them to the space if they so wish. However, this type of activity cannot be recommended, as avoiding unnecessary close contact is important to reduce the risk of infection."

We organize outdoor training opportunities for competition groups, as well as independent training separately from our instructions.

A big thank you to the supporting members and donors!

The prolonged corona situation has created significant financial challenges for Taekwondo athletes' club activities, as we reported at the end of March.

The support memberships that have arrived have helped in a tight situation. We also started a campaign that allows you to support both the club and underprivileged children and young people's hobbies during and after a difficult time. There have been a lot of support donations, and we can once again be grateful and proud of the steadfast support of our enthusiasts and those close to us.

OKM's special grant for taekwondo athletes

The tight situation was also relieved by a special grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture, through which we were able to apply for a €7,000 grant to make up for the shortfall in operations during the corona period. With support members, donations and OKM's assistance, the situation looks brighter, but all support is still needed.

We will continue to have to make precise choices regarding the running of the activity, but it goes without saying that the main focus will continue to be on the quality and quantity of hobby activities for all age groups.

Training 6.4. from

The Regional Administrative Agency of Southern Finland has ordered all private sports facilities to be closed between April 1 and April 14. The decision does not apply to those born in 2008 and after. 

The practice of children's groups in the gym continues with the same with corona instructions as until now. Note that some of the groups have become small changes to practice times.

Youth, adults and competition teams move to training during the lockout to the end of remote connections and to outdoor spaces. The coaches give separate instructions on the equipment and operating methods of the outdoor exercises.

First of all, a big thank you to everyone for following the instructions accurately and responsibly! Training has been able to continue safely with masks and safety intervals.

Understandably, the mask on the face is disturbing from time to time, and it would be nice to kick things off, but for a while we still have to continue with the current model. Together we can do it! 

No significant changes to the instructions

The instructions remain the same as last week:

Pay particular attention to:

  • Everyone over the age of 7 wears a mask also during training 
  • Guardians are not allowed to come inside the hall during training
  • Those over 12 years old (born in 2007 and earlier) must register separately for the exercises via website registration 
  • The situation may change quickly, so follow our news channels and news closely
  • Don't forget to actively participate in the weekly live training sessions

Changes in training 8.3.-14.3.

A big thank you to everyone for following the instructions last week! Our goal is to continue to bear our responsibility both in the fight against viruses and especially as an organizer of exercise and sports activities for young age groups. Exact instructions and their compliance are central to this work.

AVI stood by its decision, according to which private sports facilities can also be used for the activities of over 12-year-olds, as long as there are no more than ten people there at one time and the safety distances can actually be maintained.

Until then, we will continue training with the same schedule as last week. The biggest changes to our instructions are:

  • We also require the use of a face mask during training for all enthusiasts over the age of 7
  • People over the age of 12 register for training using the reservation system on our website

Please note that the situation can change quickly. We will continue to inform via the website, e-mail and Whatsapp information group.

A face mask is mandatory in training for over 7 year olds

We also require the use of a face mask during training for all enthusiasts over the age of 7. Persons with health impediments to wearing the mask are exempt from wearing it.

We require masks for the following reasons:

  • More and more comprehensive evidence has been obtained for the use of masks to protect yourself and others when the virus spreads through the air
  • The mutation virus also spreads effectively among children and young people
  • We want to use all possible means so that training can continue safely in face-to-face teaching in the coming weeks 

We understand that using a mask can seem challenging during exercise, especially for younger children. However, for example, the young people who participated in the poom experiment wore the mask throughout the five-hour tough experiment.

The use of the mask can be taken as an additional challenge, which actually increases the aerobic load of the exercise. We also take the situation into account by planning the exercises to be lighter than usual and so that there are more breaks in them.

With children, the correct use of masks is practiced at the beginning of the exercise.

Exercises are booked from the calendar. If there are already ten reservations in the exercise, you can no longer participate in it. Book a class only if you are sure of your participation and cancel the reservation in time if you cannot attend.
