      Upper belts

      Sat 11.3. from 12:00 to 14:00

How do you get to the belt exams?

You can get to the belt exams by collecting enough practice marks from the previous belt exam. We calculate training visits based on recorded workouts, so Please remember to record your exercise with a track tag every time you go to the gym.

The prerequisite for entering the exam is also that you know the things required in the exam, the movement sequences, and follow the rules of behavior in the gym at a sufficient level.

You do not need to register for the exam in advance. However, please let us know if you are not going to participate in the exam after receiving the invitation by email. Also let us know if you didn't receive an invitation, but you think you should have a belt test

What is required in the belt test?

In the belt exam, you need to know the technical requirements of the exam and the sets of movements. The requirements of the previous exams also still have to be mastered.

      Practice instructions for belt tests

How should you prepare for the exams?

The best preparation for the exam is to attend training actively and versatile. For example, enthusiasts who emphasize match training should also attend basic training from time to time, and correspondingly, those training in basic hobby groups should deepen their skills in the form of match training and movement sets.

Movement sets should be practiced especially well, because they gather almost all the techniques required in the exam and embody the ability of the enthusiast to rhythm the techniques and generate strength in them. After learning a new movement sequence, repeat it as much as possible.

In the weeks before the exam, movement sets are also repeated more than usual in training.

What does the exam cost and how is it billed?

You can find our belt test price list:

PM races day 2 (business series)

Five Nordic championships for Taekwondo athletes

The PM races continued on Sunday, January 22. for motion sequences. As many as 145 athletes were aiming for medals and the level was as expected. No free medals or even final places were awarded in any series. At the end of a tight competition day, Team Finland was crowned the best team of the competition!

The taekwondo athletes represented the Finnish team in almost all age groups and participated in several doubles and groups. In total, TU got 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze.

Aino Kortelainen, who was also in the master group together with Sofia Sarala and Kuopio Taekwondo's Airada Heikkinen, took the gold from the individual series with an iron performance. Sofia was also crowned doubles champion, when she won the double time with Herttoniemi Taekwondo's Lassi Kaasinen.

Ville Lehtinen also took the championship in his group series. In addition to Ville, the team included Mudokwan Vantaa's Tatu Iivanainen and Taekwondo Vihdin's Sampsa Aukio. Ville didn't stop working because in addition to the group, he also participated in the pair and coached other members of Team Finland for a long day.

Laura Kinnunen fought for no less than three medals, when a silver medal from the individual series and a bronze medal from both the group and a pair were hung around her neck. As a partner, Laura had Taekwondo Vihdi's Sampsa Aukio. Laura got team bronze with Mudokwa Vantaa's Laura Wild and Budokwai Taekwondo's Miia Siutila.

Marita Jaakkola was also seen on the carpet in several series. Marita got a handsome silver in the individual category and bronze in the group category with Jenny Nyman and Kati Kuosmanen from the Espoo Hwarang Team. Correspondingly, Inés Benaissa earned bronze in the doubles with an excellent performance with Budokwa's Alex Karlsson. About Inés's competition performance and also an amazingly powerful presentation.

Kirsimarja Raitasalo and Luca Lonka made their PM competition debut. Neither of them reached the medals this time, but the performances did not leave anyone cold. Both are allowed to expect strong results in the future. Alex Jürgens didn't even make it to the medals in the tight series of junior boys, where the top places were divided by an extremely narrow margin. Alex was also right near the top.

From a coaching point of view, it was a pleasure to watch the activities of both the TU athletes and the entire Team Finland. Athletes train with determination, and this same determination is also reflected in their performances on the competition mats. The top places are decided by very small differences, but it's great to see that both the number of athletes and the quality of what they do are constantly going up.

It's good to move on from here!

      PM races 2023, day 1

The Nordic championships will be held this time in Helsinki, on the Urhea campus on Mäkelänrinte. On the first day, the program included matches, tomorrow, Sunday 22.1. next are the business series.

      Adults

In adults, TU11 was represented by 3 athletes, resulting in two gold and one silver.

      Chahrazed Boughrara (F -73)

Chahra fought in a bigger weight class than usual because there were no opponents for his own. Estonia's Kai Laatsperä and Saara Rintamaa in the final didn't have much to say about the matches that Chahra dominated with an iron grip. Both matches ended 2-0. Nordic championship for Chahra.

      Bardia Mirzaei (M -80kg)

Due to the small size of the series, Bardia had a direct place in the finals. In the only match, Iceland's Bjorn Joel Bjorgvinsson was the perfect opponent in the set 2-0. So, gold for Bardia.

      Juuli Mankonen

Juuli won his first match by clear numbers. The opposing Norwegian Cecilie Ruiz Fonn fell 2-0. In the finals, we saw a repeat of the championships when Juuli faced Turku's Ida Tammila. Unfortunately, Ida was better this time as well and Juuli won silver.

      Juniors

      Teemu Takala  5.-8.
