Christian, Olli Siltanen (Budokwai) and Frans Salmi (Budokwai) did quite a trick by grabbing a bronze from the Beach Poomsae World Championships organized in Rhodes and immediately after that also a bronze from the European Championship for movement series organized in the same place. The level was extremely high in both value competitions, so the performances of the Finnish trio are worth admiring. In addition to this, Christian also took gold from Austria in the extremely tough G1 tournament, where e.g. the reigning European champion.
The club will have a coffee in Christian's honor on Sunday, July 2. from 14:00 at the Konala hall. The invitation applies to everyone who can nail, so come and enjoy the medal party and the summer day in good company. The event is very free and does not require pre-registration.
In the same connection, the club also gives a homework gift to the children's instructor Jenna Aalto, who is moving to Loviisa in the summer.

Christian dropped quite a bomb by grabbing gold in the extremely tough U30 series of the Austrian G1 Championships on 17 June 2017.
Christian left behind a whole line of business series giants of the moment. There were e.g. the reigning European champion Joachim Wien and Joel van der Weiden fell in the final, who is the European champion of sleds from the last European Championships. Christian also knocked out this year's European doubles champion Benjamin Hellegaard Harden.
Aino excelled in the children's series, taking silver in her individual series and gold in pairs and groups, where Aino complemented the team of her Austrian training friends.
Warm congratulations to both of them for their amazing performances!
The belt test for the adult groups was held in the last week of the spring training period and thus served as a suitable conclusion to the hard training of the spring. In the test, new belt values were performed this time especially by high-strung enthusiasts. The test was received by Sampo Pajulampi, who had little to criticize about the performance of the group or individuals.
The club congratulates everyone on the new belt values!
A sure sign of summer is that the dreaded ”hill” will appear on the Taekwondo athletes' training calendar. As the name suggests, the hill training involves repeatedly running up the infill hill of Malminkartano using either stairs or paths. The training weights will change as the summer progresses and fitness levels increase. We recommend this exercise to anyone who wants to improve their fitness, especially if you are still lacking a hill workout in your experience bank.
For the first time, we will go for hill training as a joint start in Salita on Wednesday, June 7. at 18:30 From now on, the exercises start directly on the hill at the bottom of the stairs.
As usual, the exercises run at the Taekwondo athletes' gym, even in the summer with a slightly lighter schedule. When schools start in August, we will return to a more compact training calendar, which will be announced closer.
The two middle weeks of July 10.7-23.7. the gym is completely closed and the coaches are on summer pastures.
The taekwondo championships will be held on July 7-9, 2017 in Tampere as part of a massive sports week, where more than a hundred sports will organize their championships and other events. In addition, amateur competitions are organized in connection with the event. In the SM championships, the competition is both in the match and in the business series.
This year, we are investing in a separate project for the World Championships, the goal of which is to prepare the athletes for peak performance and work as a unified team throughout the competition process. The project can be participated by both WC competitors and amateurs aiming to participate in the amateur tournament or next year's WC. So everyone, either as a competitor, spectator or part of the maintenance crew!

We try to organize bus transportation so that both groups can move easily without their own car. So on Friday, one bus leaves for Tampere, on Saturday another, and of course returns after both race days. We are also trying to organize transportation to accommodation and from there to the games. Bus rides will be announced in more detail as soon as they are confirmed.

There was plenty of excitement in the gym of taekowntour athletes on Wednesday 24.5. when no less than four belt exams followed each other. In the first shift, the white-clad players got to taste their first belt test and performed excellently all the techniques and additional challenges required in the test. In the next turn, the hall was absolutely packed, when the gnomes hunting for green ribbons and belts of the same color showed their skills. Meanwhile, on the other side of the hall, a group of young children earned their tiger and dragon badges. The last test of the evening lasted a full two hours, but it was not an overwhelming challenge for the upper belts.
Good luck to all new belt ranks!
