On Saturday, the league champions won tough matches in their favor
The Nurtzi Open has grown into such a big and international competition that it was held as a two-day event this year. On Saturday, the league series and the adult amateur series competed, while on Sunday it was the turn of the children's series and the youth amateur series.
The league contestants were in excellent competition condition and even tight matches were turned into wins with a high percentage. Almost everyone took the opening wins and the atmosphere of the match got better and better as the race day wore on. The biggest smiles were seen wearing gold medals around their necks at the end of the day Sarah, Kian's and Jenny's on the face. Sara's effective front foot did not give mercy to the final opponent this time either and Kian showed how to dig for points by continuing situations even when the opponent already thinks they are over. Jenny played three matches as if in a ecstasy, and the will to win, combined with precise movement and a cheeky search for points, brought Jenny a well-deserved series victory.
On Saturday, there was also an appearance Jenna, who made it to the final easily, even though the injured knee in the first match hindered his performance. Jenna didn't compete in the final, saving her knee for the upcoming European Championships. A boat flashed again top-class situational awareness and kicking skills. Without a few dozing offs and tactic slips, Venne would have fought for two series wins in very tough weight classes, where there were kickers from Spain and Russia. Severi, Teresa, Emmi and Plum were all at their own level and played their opening matches well. Even the matches of the second round looked really good despite the losses, although of course a little extra polishing still needs to be done. Also Alina fought very tough tactically against his opponent, but this time the food was not enough to win. On the side of enthusiasts Risto won his first match, but had to bow out in the second. However, taking home a bronze. Zaman opened his competition career, but the Estonian opponent won the match.
On Sunday, children and young people showed their skills
Sunday's firecracker was Mark, whose fast rhythm is difficult for opponents to follow. Markus showed what the will to win is by rising from a 7-0 deficit to a draw in the last 30 seconds of the final and deciding the match in favor of the overtime. Purposeful training was also visible Priya and Aten in making, who also took their series with stylish victories. Noah unfortunately had to stop his match in the middle of the match as a result of a hard kick to the leg. Renad and Essi they fought well, but the opponents were even a hair better this time.
Coaches Sampo, Pauli, Teemu and Pot were satisfied with the team's performance and attitude in doing things. The team worked well together and Bardian the athletes who entered the field through the warm-up kicks always started to fight for victories. The team was the third best in the games right after the teams from Sweden and Estonia. In a few weeks, a large part of the athletes will be able to show their nails in Berlin, from which these screens are allowed to wait for victorious news.
