Taekwondo athletes in Rauma have a small representation
The match Rauma Open 2017 took place on April 28. Taekwondo athletes had a small representation of 12 competitors, half of which competed in the morning in the junior series and half in the afternoon in the league series. In general, the team was at their own level, and a few clear self-surpasses were also seen.
Lauri styled two match wins despite a leg injury. However, in the final, the representative of Helsinki Taekwondo won an extremely tight match with a penalty point in the overtime. However, the coach's ears tingled to hear the referee's feedback that this was clearly the best match of the morning on this field. The younger Hulilkkala, Henri, had to settle for bronze this time after losing the semifinal to the winner of his series. Teemu also competed in the same series, advancing to the semi-finals with a clear victory. However, in the semi-final, no weapons were found to break the opponent's turtle defense, so I also saw Teemu getting bronze. Venne showed great will to win against his opponent from Jyväskylä. The lead of the match fluctuated between its owners until Venne's equalizer at the last second. The thriller ended in the overtime with a hit by the opponent, but a great performance from Venne. In the girls' combined -30kg and -34kg series, Sofia and Iines progressed from both sides of the chart to the final against each other. This time, Iines led the tight competition with precisely timed scoring performances.
In the league series, there was a smaller team than usual, because part of the team is in Athens in the hunt for medals. Luca, who is recovering from an injury, played a tactically good match, but Tampere's familiar opponent took longer. Sami increased his league lead in the -63kg series by winning his eventful final. Sami's tactics and concentration remained throughout the match and the result was accordingly. Bardia also has a direct final against Forssa's representative. Bardia didn't quite get his normal gear in the eye and the exact resistance used all the points to his advantage. So a loss this time. Severi met Otso Saarinen, a familiar from Turku. The first set was very good for Severi, but in the second and third the long training break started to show on the legs, and Severi couldn't really get involved in fast situations anymore. The titans met again in the cadet girls' -33kg series, where the girls of Taekwondo athletes, Doboksport Tampere and Porvoo again sought dominance. Aino lost in the semifinals against Tampere Viivi, and Jenny progressed from the other side of the chart to the finals. However, this time Viivi had a reason to smile the widest when she beat Jenny in the final with a great finish. However, a great match from Jenny, which she dominated until the end.
The racing season is slowly coming to an end. Ikaalis will be visited again on 20.5. championships for under 21-year-olds as well as junior and amateur series. All you have to do is sign up!
