The Nurmijärvi competition was a success

Vassilaki Sophia, Kadetti girls -41kg
Sophia beat both of her opponents and took the series win. The wins were really clear (20-10 and 11-3).

Sophia on the move

Feka Vokker, Cadet boys -53kg
Vokker's match was interrupted in the second set due to a mistake made by the opponent. The contact of the opponent's head kick was too hard and thus the match was awarded to Voker. Voker was not allowed to continue competing and he got silver to take home.

Palvianen Hilla, B1-League (B1T) 59-63kg
Palvianen Hilla, Match League (N) 62-67kg
Hilla took silver in both sets. The legs were heavy after the initial laps. Although the match went moderately well, the gas was not enough for series victories.

Kauppinen Petteri, Match League (M) 74-80kg
Petteri didn't fight.

Ranta Juho, Match League (M) 80-87kg
Juho won both his matches. In the final, a little carelessness took the match to overtime, which Juho won relatively easily.

Heino Teemu, Match League (M) +87kg
Teemu routinely won his series. The match was a bit cautious because next week there will be taekwondo EC competitions, where Teemu will represent Finland.
Röyttä Emilia, D2 juniors
Emilia fought well in her first games, although match victories were still waiting for her. Bronze around the neck to go home.
Saha Jaakko, Hobbyists (M) +80
Jaakko didn't fight due to illness.

Laukkanen Markus, +30 (M) +80
Markus took a tight match with his opponent from Tampere. The match was a steady grind and the scores were tight. After numerous warnings, the end result was a stinging 4-5 loss from Markus' point of view.

Thanks on behalf of the team to everyone who participated. Each of you helped in your own way. It's great to be part of a group that is ready to blow on one another.

To Nurmijärvi to fight and cheer on Saturday 28 April 2012

Juho Kostiainen (TU11) and Sanan Eskandari (Budokwai) at the WC, photographer Teemu Vänskä

Now everyone can compete and support TU11's athletes in the Nurmijärvi league competition. The national competition season culminates in the spring in Nurmijärvi, where the 3rd competition of the league is held. There will be exciting matches and good going. The best way to get into the atmosphere is to participate yourself, but there is certainly enough entertainment for the whole day in the cheerleading squads as well.

The last day of registration is 18.4. so you still have time to participate.

Success from Pori

Sampo, Sofia and the best contestant

The taekwondo athletes were very successful in the Pori league competition.

Sophia Vassilaki, Cadet girls -41kg
Sophia fought brilliantly, defeating both her opponents. The match develops race by race and now the gold medal was hung around the neck. In addition, Sophia was deservedly chosen as the best cadet girl of the competition.

Voker Feka, Cadet boys -53kg
Voker's debut in the cadets went well, but there was still room for improvement. The experienced Emil Virkki faced off in the first round, who was stronger by 2 points. However, Voker was able to have a completely equal match and fought well until the end. A very promising performance from the first breeder who grew up in his own gym.

Lovikka Tanja, Match League (N) 46-49kg
Tanja's match didn't really start at all, and a leg injury acquired two weeks ago prevented a full-weight match. With the recurrence of the leg contusion, the concentration was broken and the defeat was a fact. Still 3rd place and league points home.

Kostianen Juho, Match League (M) 68-74kg
As expected, Juho was completely superior in his series. Three matches, three wins, and you're done. The most dominant and best competitor in the competition showed the others where the locker was.

Juho Ranta, Match League (M) 80-87kg
Juho missed out due to illness.

Teemu Heino, Match League (M) +87kg
No challengers registered for Teemu this time.

Overall, the long day was rewarding and especially the constantly improving grips of the young competitors were very positive. Thanks to the Pori club for going through the challenging arrangements and to Laura Vassilaki for her help in taking care of the team.
