Euro Cup 2017
The league series was attended by Jenny Vettenniemi and Iines Korhonen in cadets and Emilia Lahti in juniors. Jenny and Iines participated in two weight classes. In one, Jenny won and Iines took silver, and in the other, Jenny won silver and Iines took bronze. Emilia won one match, but injured her ankle in the semi-finals. There is no serious injury to the ankle, but there will be at least a week of rest.
In the children's series, Lauri and Lassi and Venne competed in two series. Everyone won one set and Venne was left with silver in his second set after kicking his opponent in the head against the rules in a 9-0 lead. Everyone dominated their series and the transition to the most demanding series is ahead during the autumn competition season.
Sampo Pajulampi coached and Ali Lahti refereed. Ali's refereeing was praised, the accumulation of experience can be seen in solid action on the field. The well-being of the contestants was taken care of by a large group of parents, whose contribution was again invaluable.
Latvian Open 2017
In Latvia, our club was represented by Tuikku Holopainen and Plum Kopisto in cadets, Severi Sarala in juniors and Jenna Partanen in adults.
Tuikku, Plum and Severi already fell in the first round, but Plum and Tuikku still got the bronze medals. Jenna won her opening opponent, but in the quarterfinals Russia's Katja Derbaneva was stronger.
