Gold for Sara from Latvia

Sara won gold in the series – 29 kg on Saturday in the tournament held in Liepaja, Latvia.

Leva Caunite 9-6
Zaharenkova is the reigning Latvian champion.

 

Eddie competed in the -49kg series and was against the representative of Belarus. The match ended 10-14 Eddie's loss.

Gold and silver for Essi Labart from Lohja

Essi Labart participated on Saturday 25.4. to the Lohja Open business series competitionsn and brought two medals with him!. Essi received a silver medal in the under-30 women's category, and in the under-30 couple category, Essi and her partner Olli Siltanen won the entire category. Moldova Open

Moldova Open took place on 16-19 April 2015. Our club was represented by Emilia Lahti (bronze), Milla Väyrynen (ranking 5th-8th) and Aleksi Väyrynen (ranking 5th-8th).

Eekwondo European Championships for the disabled

The competition took place on April 20, 2015. Our team was represented by multiple World Cup medalist Matti Sairanen (ranked 5th-8th).

In addition to Finland, competitors from Sweden, Iceland, Estonia and Turku had registered for the Games. The arrangements went well.

Good performances

The team's performance had improved across the board from the previous tournament. Emilia Lahti's victory in two series in particular was a hard performance, because there are really good competitors in the series.

Jenna Partanen travels around the value competitions in the spring

Jenna's spring can accommodate high-level competitions

Taekwondo athletes Jenna Partanen has toured throughout the spring in high-level international tournaments. The most recent of these was the EC tournament of the Olympic weight classes organized for the first time in Russia in Nalchik on March 26-29. Jenna represented Finland in the women's under 67kg category. In the opening match, Jenna beat Greece's Elpida Marina Dimitropoulou in style 7-1. In the second round, Sweden's Elin Johansson, who reaped international tournament victories, was up against her, who was better this time with a score of 6-1. Jenna's ranking from the competition 5th-8th. The club congratulates Jenna for a great competition!

 

Currently, Jenna is preparing for the world championships, which will take place from 12 to 18 May. also in Russia. Taekwondo athletes Teemu Heino will also go on the medal hunt as a representative of the men's heavyweight division.

Summer camp for children and young people

The almost traditional summer camp for children and young people will be held again this year right after school ends. The camp is a week-long day camp with two sessions, outdoor activities, lunch, snacks and games on each day. The camp is suitable for everyone aged 7-15, from beginners to more advanced practitioners. To register, email info@tu11.fi. When registering, please include the name, age, water level (if any) and any food allergies. It is advisable to register quickly, as only the first 20 registrations will be accepted. If there is a large number of registrations and enquiries, a similar camp can be organised in the second week of June.

What: Summer camp for children and young people

Timing: First week of June, Mon-Fri 1-5 June 2015

At:  9:00-15:00 (possibility to apply later)

Price: €175 (includes lunch and snacks)

Goal of the camp: The goal of the summer camp is to offer children and young people a physical activity at the beginning of the summer vacation. In addition, two extra exercises/day makes it possible to teach things more precisely and more versatile than what is gathered to attend the normal weekly exercises.
