Good luck to the taekwondo athletes at the Finnish championships

The taekwondo athletes were successful on 3.11. excellently in the organized championships.

Hilla Palviainen in the women's under 67 kg category and Sophia Vassilaki in the cadet girls' under 44 kg category were responsible for the best performances. Both Hilla and Sophia won the series and got gold medals around their necks. In addition, Hilla won gold in the girls' under 68 kg category, when no other contestants dared to enter the category. Silver was won by Tanja Lovikka in the women's under 49 kg category and Juho "Jouko" Ranta in the men's over 87 kg category. In addition, taekwondo instructor Pauli Raivio won the men's category under 67 kg, albeit representing Lahti Taekwondo.

The level of the tournament did not become dizzying, but great competitors and matches were seen in many series. Hilla's victory over Maria Heikkinen, who is considered top talent, was a real thriller until the end. However, the final result was completely clear and the point difference was quite fair.

All results can be found on the competition pages: http://www.mukwan.com/sm2012/tulokset/sm2012tulokset.pdf

Teemu and Juho K. in Burgos

ESP, FIN, FRA
Heavy category medal trio of the Burgos competition

Teemu and Juho started their Spanish camp weekend with a small competition in the beautiful city of Burgos, a couple of hundred kilometers north of Madrid. Teemu beat both his Spanish and French opponents. Juho cleared his first challenge with a routine, but in the second match travel fatigue was visible, and Juho was not able to perform at his sharpest. So the training buddy from Madrid grabbed Juho's place in the finals and Juho won a bronze medal from the Games. The races dragged on late, and after a long car ride, we didn't get to the hotel in Madrid until a little before three in the morning.
