Summer practice times

The summer practice times have been published on the practice times page! and they enter into force on June 1.

When the gathering restrictions are relaxed, 50 people can return to relatively normal training. Of course, it is clear that precautions must still be taken into account in all activities and planning of exercises. We publish detailed instructions for all enthusiasts before the start of summer training, and they are also reviewed with each group in the gym. 

There is plenty of training in the summer, so now is an excellent opportunity to make up if your own training has fallen short since the end of spring. For example, there are 9 weekly classes for adults to choose from. The hardest trainers certainly make use of all the training!

Some of the exercises are carried out outside.

We also practice in the summer

Summer is the best time to train, when the pressure from school and work eases. The gym for taekwondo athletes is also open in the summer, albeit with a slightly lighter calendar. In July, we will be completely closed for a few weeks and the instructors will be airing out in the summer pastures.

  • All groups have one less basic practice than in the spring season. Instead, everyone over the age of 12 is offered hill training as usual on Malminkartano's Jätemäki. The training is intense.
  • Exercise groups have been combined by age group. In the summer, training is focused on repetitions and features, so that everyone keeps up and still gets challenges that suit them.
  • Summer break is celebrated 9.7.-31.7. Two extra camps will be organized over the summer for everyone who has a valid training contract. One before the summer break and one after the break.
  • The training amounts of the competition groups remain unchanged. Morning workouts are arranged separately before the end of school. Amateur competitors join the Wednesday practice, which is designed to suit everyone. Those who have been in the children's match group participate in the training of the competition group.

No significant changes to practice times in the spring

Spring 2018

  • There will be no changes to the practice times of the basic groups
  • 3-6 year olds are merged back into one age group, 4-6 year olds, which has two practices a week. Wednesday's exercises are divided into two groups according to skill level: In the beginning, those who have completed the tiger sign practice, and in the advanced group, those who have completed the dragon sign and more advanced. For more information about group divisions, you can ask Mari or Paul in the gym. A new division is made, because many of the former 3-4-year-olds wanted two hours a week, and many went to practice with 5-6-year-olds on Mondays anyway.
  • The competition group of the match is divided into two groups according to age. Children practice Mon-Wed from 16-17, and young people and adults in later shifts. Sharing ensures precisely targeted exercises for all age groups. You can get more information about the groups from Sampo.
  • The Tuesday practice of the business series competition group is aimed at children and cadet-age competitors of their own club, who aim for success in both domestic and foreign competitions
  • The adults' own morning workout continues on Tuesday mornings. Welcome aboard!
  • The new practice times come into effect on Monday 8.1.2018
