Friday 17.11. Indoor competitions of taekwondo athletes

Welcome to the November indoor games in Konala! Participation is free for everyone, and you do not need to register separately. Representatives of other clubs are also warmly welcome to join!

17:00-19:00 – E, D, and C2 (7-12-year-olds and 12-14-year-old beginners)

19:00-21:00 – C1, B1, B2, R1 and H (12-14-year-old cadets, +15-year-olds)

If you are not sure which group you should join, ask your coach or contact us by email. In particular, larger C2 boats and those planning to transfer to cadet series should ask if more suitable resistors can be found in a later shift. We encourage all new enthusiasts to participate in the games, even if they don't even know what competing means. The first time you can look at the moods or even try it yourself if you feel like it.

E-armors are used for the shift starting at 19:00. Your own E-socks are therefore highly recommended if you want to fight with electric armor. There are also a few loaner socks in different sizes.

You can borrow the missing protectors from the club, but we encourage everyone to buy their own training protectors, which are regularly needed in training as well. Ask more from the gym's equipment store and coaches.

Note! No other exercises will be organized on the day of the Salika competition.

Morning workouts for adults start on Tuesday 14.11.

The possibility of morning exercise for adults has attracted enough interest that a class is organized 14.11. from every Tuesday at 7:00-8:00.

In the morning workouts, the body is opened and awakened in an upward direction and special attention is paid to exercises that support sports techniques. The training is suitable for everyone, even those with little or no experience in taekwondo. A separate 10-card (€85) is used for training, and you can use it at your own pace. So you don't have to join every morning workout.

Welcome to the morning walk!

Award for the best match club for Taekwondo athletes from the Ambassador's Cup

Taekwondo athletes had great success in Vantaa

Taekwondo athletes participated with a big team on Saturday 28.10. To the Ambassador's Cup competition organized in Tikkurila, Vantaa, where there was competition in both the match and business series. In the morning, we competed in the match side in the children's series and in the amateur series, and in the afternoon in the league series. Business series competitions rolled on from morning to night with full power. Team spirit was on the roof all day and the competitors' performances matched it. The coaching team Sampo, Pauli, Juho, Mari, Petteri and Heikki were very satisfied at the end of the day.

Lots of first timers in the amateur and children's match series

Over the course of the fall, there have been more and more enthusiastic coaches in amateur match training, and in Tikkurila this was reflected in a great-sized team and an open-minded approach. The level of competitions was quite tough even in the beginner series due to the foreign opposition, so the victories did not come easily in any series. Of the morning's performances, Venne's strong grips and series victory and Kian's tactically mature fighting, which also led Kian to the series victory, were especially memorable. Overall, the overall appearance of the team was excellent, and with a little additional training, the few losses that have come now can be turned into wins. See you at Tuesday's training!

Back-to-back series wins in the match league series

In the league series of the match, victories clicked at a comfortable pace. Tuikku patted two series wins with clean style from start to finish. It is difficult to find pointless moves in Tuikku's matches, and it is equally difficult for the opponents to find points. Plum also continued his familiar confident moves, taking the series victory in the cadets and taking silver in the juniors. Venne's first contact in cadet competitions could not have started more deliciously. Two clear victories and a series victory after the victory in the morning gave reason for quite a broad smile. In the junior series, Severi and Bardia also won clear series victories with brilliant performances. On the side of the smaller cadet girls, the mutual twists of the companions were quite entertaining and the great battles against tough foreign opponents also deserve a hat-trick.

The great level of results of the afternoon shows that the club left the race hall at the end of the day with the award for the best match club.

Good results from a tough business series competition

In Finland, you rarely see business series competitions of such a high standard as now in Vantaa. The lists, including the beginner series, had an exceptional amount of both domestic and foreign opponents. Especially Denmark and Russia were on the move with very hard-level teams. The prize winners in most series were already very fine performances. Watching Christian's freestyle makes you gasp, and Aino and Plum's cadet medals were brilliant performances considering that both of them covered the gap between the match and movement series mats at a steady pace.

TU's team in the business series is quite young and a considerable number of them compete above their own age group. Considering this, the results can be considered quite good. A big team and its good spirit create a good foundation for the future.

October belt exams in a package

In the belt tests of taekwondo athletes, great skill and technical skills

The October belt exams were delivered comfortably before the school holiday week. For many junior enthusiasts, the start of the holiday was an exceptionally tasty new belt value under their armpits.

The adult groups took their first belt test, and this time there was a fairly small group of test takers. The experiment was directed and evaluated by Pauli, who was very satisfied with the group's performance. The technical know-how clearly exceeded the belt test requirements, and as the test progressed, even the tsempi was found better and better. Friday the 13th was really not an unlucky day, at least in the Taekwondo athletes' hall, when the juniors completed their belt test. The tests were directed by Petteri Pauli, who was judging next door. The level of all groups was good, and it was especially gratifying to see a clear development curve for both individuals and groups.

Taekwondo athletes congratulates those who have passed their new belt values!

Taekwondo athletes in Porvoo

The second league competition of the fall was played in Porvoo on Saturday 14.10. and Taekwondo athletes are well represented as usual, especially in the league series. The competitions went very well: some of the contestants had made clear strides in development, some surpassed themselves on the competition mat, and some improved their basic game. Some areas of development were also found under the watchful eyes of the coaches, Juho, Pauli and Mari mulled it over with each other, and these are used to shape exercises for the next games.

A double win for Plum in the league series

The matches in the league series were fast-paced and it was nice to watch especially the young players hungry for victory. As usual, Plum Kopisto competed in two series, cadets and juniors, and a double victory in these series is starting to become a tradition. However, the golden medals did not find their way around the neck of the workhorse for free, but the constant stalking of the kick spot combined with the will to score points produced results again. In the cadets' final, clubmate Lauri Hulikkala faced Plum, who put in a lot of effort, but this time he still didn't manage to win the match. Let it be mentioned in Lauri's favor that the fighter fought the rest of the match with a broken arm without even flinching. Only after the match did Lauri start to realize that this hand is a bit sore.

Double gold smiles

Aino Kortelainen and Jenny Vettenniemi also took a mutual tie in the cadets, the first of whom managed to turn the match around. Jenny fought well, but Aino's competitive spirit was so good today that she went all the way to the series win and silver in the second series. Silver was also won by Janika Tatti, who showed her tremendous pace of development for the second day in a row after Friday's belt test on the Porvoo racing mats. The same can also be said about Lucas, whose match was, at its best, an international-level kicking match. Unfortunately, we were satisfied with silver and bronze from these scraps, but as the kicks start to hit the goal better, the medals will surely become brighter in the near future.

Tuikku Holopainen also belonged to the doubles team, and Tuikku won gold from the cadets and bronze from the juniors. The accurate Tuikku also seemed to be in control of forward attack combinations in the tight final of his cadet series, which he managed to turn from a losing position into a victory. We want to see more of these aggressive bursts in the future! Emilia Lahti competed in the juniors and this time she missed the first match, but just fine. Emmi also dug out one point after another from the chasing position, but the tie was unfortunately one kick away in the last moments of the match.

TU11 warming up

Bardia Mirzaei fought in the adults, when there were no opponents in the junior series. Bardia's will to win was transmitted even to the last rows of benches in the audience, and the first match was handled with a great victory. In a tight final, Bardia unfortunately had to admit that his opponent was better at the end of an even match. Sami Leskinen and Eduard Korolevskiy also competed in adults and in the same series. However, a mutual match was not seen and the final result was bronze for Sam and silver for Eduard.

Great performances from the first timers

In the children's and amateurs' series, Taekwondo athletes had a gratifying number of first-timers, even though the team was otherwise of a moderate size. Alina Shor and Teresa Vepsä were both taking part in the national championships for the first time, and if there was tension in the air, at least you couldn't see it from these competitors. Alina and Teresa played good matches with open-mindedness, but unfortunately both lost their way in the first match by a hair's breadth. The same happened to Kaisla Seimola and Risto Hyvärinen, both of whom have already toured a few competitions. Losses in Porvoo, but it's still good to continue towards the Vantaa Games!

Kian Nowrouzi was also at the games for the first time and did not shy away from his more experienced opponents at all. Two wins guaranteed a place in the final, and in the same way, his teammate Aleksi Koskelainen advanced from the other side of the chart. The mutual encounter was a fast-paced and high-quality performance, which was finally turned in favor by Aleksi. A double win in this big series was a great performance from the boys!

Best judge award for Ali

Taekwondo competitions can be experienced in many ways. Ali Lahti has chosen the judge's perspective, and there hasn't been a competition this year where Ali hasn't been seen as a judge, including indoor competitions in his own hall. Ali's professionalism has grown from competition to competition and the grips are firm, as a good judge should be. Ali left Porvoo with the best judge's statue under his arm. Awesome!

We also train during the autumn holidays

Taekwondo athletes train on a normal schedule, even during autumn vacation

The first push of schoolwork has been taken care of quickly and we're off to a well-deserved fall vacation. On vacation, you should remember to relax, but don't forget to exercise. The taekwondo athletes' evening training runs on a normal schedule, so there is nothing to do but go to the gym even during autumn vacation. It is especially worth coming to Friday's indoor games.

Only the Sunday family groups have a holiday on Sunday 15.10. and 22.10.
