Business series competitors honing their side kick

Taekwondo with a side kick

The training center's movement series exercises have started at a good pace. On Thursday of last week, kicking technique day was on the program. The topic of the day was the most challenging kick of business series competitors, i.e. the side kick. In the photo, Essi Labart and Mirva Niiranen are looking for more strength in their sides and legs during one of the sub-exercises of the side kick.

The coaching program of the training center's range of motion exercises is built around four sub-areas. Sub-areas include stances, hand techniques, kicking techniques and sets of movements. The business series competitors will get to know the new coaching model very closely in the coming months.

I would like to welcome all business series competitors to the training center. It is especially worth coming if you want to win in business series competitions!

The head of the training center's business series

Petteri Kauppinen

The first training days at Helsinki's newest taekwondo gym are over

The first days of training are now over. On Monday, September 5, 2011, three new courses for junior age groups started, one beginner group for adults and an advanced group for those who had already practiced taekwondo. The interest in the previous weekend's open days had not waned, but on the first day a nice number of new taekwondo enthusiasts from Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo attended.

However, the spacious hall is not yet full, and new enthusiasts are being taken in all the time. Welcome!

The first open day at the gym for taekwondo athletes is happily over. The program included a few demo workouts led by Petter and Juho K, and especially the enthusiasm of the young children towards taekwondo was great to watch. Many thanks to everyone who participated, both new faces and old acquaintances! The work will continue again tomorrow, welcome to everyone who couldn't make it today - and even those who did. There was still plenty of coffee and bun left for tomorrow!
