Taekwondo athletes 2011 | Taekwondo | Helsinki | Espoo | VantaaEssi represented Finland at the European University Games organized in Portugal in the women's individual series of the movement series. The competition took place with an elimination system, where both contestants do their performance at the same time and at the end the judges evaluate the winner with a blue and a red flag. Essi showed two good race performances, but unfortunately did not get a further place. However, it is good to continue from this to the Universiade in Taipei in August.
The gym's summer break is over and the workouts are rolling again with full power. The summer training sessions are still on August 13. until. The autumn training calendar will be published soon.
The championship competitions took place in Tampere on July 8. In addition, 9.7. the beginners' Tampere Cup was held. The atmosphere of the team was on the roof and the result was born. Success came from a wide front, both in the match and in the business series.

Teemu Heino and Suvi Mikkonen (Hankuk Finland) represent Finland in the Taekwondo World Championships held in Muju, Korea. At the same time, Teemu breaks records by competing as the first athlete in ten separate match taekwondo World Championships. At the same time, the competitions are Teemu's last at this level. Teme's World Cup career started in Edmonton in 1999 and since then the representative career has been uninterrupted.

Christian, Olli Siltanen (Budokwai) and Frans Salmi (Budokwai) did quite a trick by grabbing a bronze from the Beach Poomsae World Championships organized in Rhodes and immediately after that also a bronze from the European Championship for movement series organized in the same place. The level was extremely high in both value competitions, so the performances of the Finnish trio are worth admiring. In addition to this, Christian also took gold from Austria in the extremely tough G1 tournament, where e.g. the reigning European champion.
The club will have a coffee in Christian's honor on Sunday, July 2. from 14:00 at the Konala hall. The invitation applies to everyone who can nail, so come and enjoy the medal party and the summer day in good company. The event is very free and does not require pre-registration.
In the same connection, the club also gives a homework gift to the children's instructor Jenna Aalto, who is moving to Loviisa in the summer.
Christian dropped quite a bomb by grabbing gold in the extremely tough U30 series of the Austrian G1 Championships on 17 June 2017.
Christian left behind a whole line of business series giants of the moment. There were e.g. the reigning European champion Joachim Wien and Joel van der Weiden fell in the final, who is the European champion of sleds from the last European Championships. Christian also knocked out this year's European doubles champion Benjamin Hellegaard Harden.
Aino excelled in the children's series, taking silver in her individual series and gold in pairs and groups, where Aino complemented the team of her Austrian training friends.

The belt test for the adult groups was held in the last week of the spring training period and thus served as a suitable conclusion to the hard training of the spring. In the test, new belt values were performed this time especially by high-strung enthusiasts. The test was received by Sampo Pajulampi, who had little to criticize about the performance of the group or individuals.
