Sophia Vassilaki took bronze from the Polish Open. The first two opponents fell in show style, but the road stood up in the semis when Jolanta Tarvida from Latvia came up against her. Tarvida is a World Championship silver medalist from Baku, albeit one weight class lower. The snacks were not enough against the top competitor.
Milla and Aleksi Väyrynen lost their opening matches, as did Emilia Lahti.

September's gym competition reportThe autumn 2014 indoor competition season for taekwondo athletes is now open. The first race was held on 12.9. on Friday. Juniors and adults were there to fill the room, and the matches continued until nine. A great mood and atmosphere prevailed in the hall until late in the evening.
It was also very nice to see Tapiola's fighters measuring their skills on Konala's mats. As usual, Porvoo, Loviisa and Riihimäki were also represented. Thanks to the guest stars only.
Now, as a new thing, pumse was also included in the indoor competitions. Four brave competitors were making pums. There was no actual competition yet, but the contestants received feedback and an assessment of their own performance.
The next races will be held on Friday 10.10. The hall wasn't quite full yet, so everyone was excited to join in!
Below are more statistics from this year's indoor competitions.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the very brisk Children's Groups worked hard on the belt exams. Great performances were seen in both groups and the test takers can be very proud of their own performances,
Good luck to all testers for a well-spent belt test!

On Monday, we happily practiced taekwondo with the babies again. During the training, muscles were strengthened, basic technique was reviewed, shoulders and back were taken care of, and above all - fun was had. The group can accommodate a couple of baby gymnasts to take care of their body holistically. There are still 12 practice sessions left. Welcome!

The taekwondo athletes' open day was visited by a good number of people interested in the new hobby. The program included sport introductions and trials, bun coffee and all kinds of sport-related and non-sport-related conversations. In the draw for free training months organized at the event, the lottery favored the following people, who each won one free training month at the Taekwondo athletes' gym.
