Takamäki after Midsummer on 24 June 2013

Midsummer has been celebrated and the enthusiastic group was cheerfully climbing the back hill of Malminkartano again. Teemu, as usual, guided the course of the training and the others enjoyed the sensations offered by the hill with acidifying thighs and throbbing frontal veins. Next week there will be another guaranteed burn for the muscles of the lower body. Everybody along! Below are a few more atmospheric photos from the mountain.

A great day for taekwondo athletes in Nurmijärvi

Taekwondo | Tanja fightsOn Saturday, April 13, 2013, skills were tested at Nurmijärvi in the context of taekwondo league competitions. A total of 13 taekwondo athletes took part in the games - first-timers, standard equipment and veterans.

Juniors

In the girls' E1 series, Sara Quinones started her match career well by winning her first match right away. The girls had a great match and I believe that this is good for both of them to continue their match careers.

In the boys' D2 series, Luca Leskinen competed in under 26 kg and Joni Stähl in under 28 kg. Luca's opponent was still a bit too tough to break and thus the victory was not achieved. Joni, on the other hand, managed to turn a tight match into a victory. Both boys only had one match this time, so there were some to bring home for both.

In the boys' D2 under 46kg series, Niklas Haapalinna started his match career. Niklas played three good and tight matches, but the victory still had to wait until the next time. In the last match, victory was almost within reach, but one tight situation turned the match in favor of the opponent.

In the boys' D1 under 37kg series, Megii Moullaev and Kasper Wargelin set out to win the series. Megii was now in the D1 series for the first time, when the D2 series didn't seem to offer enough resistance. Now Megii got plenty of opposition and suffered narrow losses in the first two matches. In the third match, Megii bowed out when the opponent gave up. Kasper, on the other hand, knew the ins and outs of the series and after tight battles stood on the highest podium.

In the boys' C2 under 49kg series, Aaha Moullaev won two tight matches. In the first, Aaha had to bow to her opponent, but in the second match, Aaha won.

In the girls' C1 under 44kg series, Sophia Vassilaki set out to win the series. In the first match, Sophia beat her training friend Emma Reimann, but in the second match, she lost to the girl from Jyväskylä. This time the series win went to Jyväskylä, but waiting for the next time.

Adults

In the seniors' +80kg series, Olof Sjöholm flashed strong moves and won both matches with clear point differences. That's how the series win became homecoming.

Tanja Lovikka, Elom Damalie and Teemu Heino, one of the founders of TU11, participated in the match league this time. Teemu took the victory in the heavy division from the young promise of Turku. The match was good for the youngster, but the means are still not enough to challenge the champion Heino. A few more years of training and we will see even more exciting matches. Elom and Tanja had to admit that their opponents were better this time. Tanja, Elomi and Teemu all had only one match during the day.

Support forces

The coaches are Juho Kostiainen, Juho Ranta and Petteri Kauppinen. In addition, a support group made up of parents helped and encouraged our own in a meritorious way.

See you at the camp!

Next weekend, the taekwondo events will continue at the taekwondo athletes' own home gym in Konala under the banner of a match camp. Everyone come to learn from Jari Seppälä and have fun with taekwondo.

Indoor competitions of taekwondo athletes in Konala

Taekwondo

Yesterday, Tuesday, October 23, 2012, indoor competitions were held in the Taekwondo athletes' hall in Konala, Helsinki, according to the already familiar formula.

Juniors first

The teams started the competition at five with warm-ups led by J. Kostiainen. This time, too, it was very nice to notice how many enthusiastic fans were already there during the warm-up. At the start of the competition itself, a few latecomers arrived to complete the group. According to my own calculations, there were more than 20 juniors present and this group managed to get through 57 taekwondo matches in a brisk two hours. At the same time, both the attendance record and the records of the matches played were new. Great! Nothing but the same excitement only for the upcoming competitions and indoor competitions.

Adults then

The adults started again as usual at seven o'clock with hujakas, and after all, more than twenty of the more grown-up hojots had arrived. By nine o'clock, 23 matches had been arranged according to the match lists. It was very nice to watch the taekwondo competition, as all the contestants participated with a good feeling and full heart. For many spectators, the evening dragged on longer than planned, as the constantly ongoing fast-paced and interesting matches delayed going home.

The new judges are at work for the first time

Taekwondo athletes Janne and Mikko also got to do real work and test the skills learned in the referee course. This way, as an observer from the sidelines, you can say that it went well. The confidence to do things was found during the evening and this is surely good for both of them to go towards the league finals. Applause and big thanks to Janne and Miko for acting as judges. Thanks also to Anna-Kristiina and Saija, who took care of the positions of timekeeper and scorekeeper.

Taekwondo athletes would like to thank all the contestants who were there. Once again, it was nice when we got high-quality competitors from other clubs in the vicinity who participated with good spirit to bring excitement to the match areas. You always bring your own extra spice to the soup when you get to kick other enthusiasts than those who visit your own gym.

Happy but tired
Terho made the most of the indoor competitions for Taekwondo athletes. And gym competitions from Terho.

TU11 – Shirt competition

Take part in the TU11 shirt contest!

The idea of the contest is to take a funny picture with a TU11 shirt or hoodie prominently in it. The picture will be put in the Facebook group of Taekwondo athletes for everyone to like. The photo with the most likes wins the contest.

Implementation of the competition

  1. Take a fun photo with the TU11 shirt.
  2. Publish the picture in TU11's facebook group. An album "Photo contest" has been set up on the group's website, where the competition photos are published.
(If you don't have access to Facebook, you can post a picture at info@taekwondourheilijat.fi and tell who the picture is from. We will display the picture on the group's pages for you.)
  3. Taking pictures starts immediately and ends at the end of the year.

Voting also starts immediately and ends at the end of January.

Competition prize

The prize in the competition is of course fun and excitement for all contestants and a free training month for the winner. The training month will be added to the next contract.

Even so, but much more fun!

Indoor competitions 14.8. and TU11 sheet

Yesterday, there were serious and playful indoor competitions at the TU11 gym. In the afternoon, the juniors in five countries started the competition with a common warm-up and it continued smoothly with matches. 8 juniors were present and 11 matches were played. After the juniors finished, the atmosphere started to thicken, as a slightly older crowd started pouring in. There were a whopping 21 competitors in the adult games, which also seems to be TU11's participant record on the adult side. A whopping 30 matches were played during the evening, according to the accounting.

This time IR judge Tatu Iivanainen was also reviewing the games. Tatu did a decent day's work acting as center judge for both juniors and adults. On behalf of the club and the players, many thanks to Tatu. You are more than welcome again. In addition to Tatu, we also had international company, when Jesus Ramal, the personal coach of Finland's Olympic representative Suvi Mikkonen, was there to feel the atmosphere of the competition and cheer on the competitors.

Junior students: Elias (TU11), Emilia (TU11), Emma (Loviisa), Ergan (TU11), Vokker (TU11), Sophia (TU11), Johanna (Klaukkala), Laura (Loviisa)

Adults: Olof (HTKD), Mörötti (TU11), Pertti (Forssa), Tuomo (Forssa), Anna (Forssa), Niko (Forssa), Teemu (Klaukkala), Tiina (Malmi), Anssi (TU11), Mikko (TU11 ), Petri, Jenna (Tapiola), Hilla (TU11), Terho (Klaukkala), Petteri (TU11), Jaakko (TU11), Kim, Elom, Toni (Loviisa), Jouni (Loviisa), Mika (TU11).

At the end of the evening, Teemu, Hilla and Petteri went climbing trees and at the same time hung a new TU11 sheet on the side of Vihdintie.
