Master Games camp on 27 July 2013 for adults

logoThe Master Games are approaching, and they will be held in Italy in approx. 3 weeks. The team from Finland has been invited to the TU11 hall for the finishing camp, and now others also have the opportunity to participate in the mood of the competition team by participating in the preparatory training and at the same time supporting the team financially.

The minimum age limit for the camp is 30 years and the level of training corresponds to national team training, which means that the package is quite fast. The exercises are directed by Ari Nevalainen, who also coaches the team in the games. There you can see e.g. Joonas Soila and Kirsimarja Kuutschin, both of whom have brought more than welcome chocolates from the prize competitions.

Program

10.00 – 11.30, technique / patterns

14:00 – 15:30, sparring

The price of the camp is 20 euros for those who are not part of the competition team. The entire amount will be used to support the team's race trip! You can also come to the camp to follow the exercises, in which case the participation fee of 20 euros is optional, but of course expected.

You do not need to register for the camp in advance.

Teemu Heino represents Finland at the World Championships

logotypeTeemu represents Finland and TU11

Taekwondo athletes 2011 are strongly represented at the World Championships. Finland's second representative is Teemu Heino in the men's +87 kg category. Another representative is Budokwa's Suvi Mikkonen.

Teemu has a tough race ahead of him, especially since the recovery from the surgery after the injury dragged out the decision to participate until the end. However, the finishing has gone reasonably well and the match style has also found new elements. At least success is not dependent on experience, as Teemu is the competitor with the longest career in value competitions in one tournament with Lopez from the USA.

Juho Ranta takes care of the athletes' well-being

The technical team includes Juho Ranta, who in his capacity as a physiotherapist treats both athletes to peak condition before the competition. Since the Finnish team is small, there are many tasks and the title of physiotherapist is quite broad.

Teemu will fight on Friday 19.7.

Every Taekwondo athlete naturally has their thumbs and big toes up when Teemu grapples. You can probably also follow the matches online, although the time difference presents its own challenges.

CONGRATULATIONS TO TEEMUS ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE CLUB!

Sophia's summer training in Greece

7448_10201130097281748_1975182339_nSophia Vassilaki is training in Greece in the summer. The first week passed Kiriakos Parasidis in the gym, under the guidance of assistant coach Haralambos Balaskas. The club's name is Peristeri and a large group of top Greek cadets and juniors train there, as the brightest star Stavroula Kontou, who took silver at last year's European Youth Championships in Zagreb.

"Really tough and skilled girls who train hard. There is no money for foreign competitions. In Bulgaria, they had won gold in at least two classes," says Laura Vassilaki, after watching the exercises for a week. Below are pictures of the exercises taken by Laura.

Next, Sophia will continue training on the island of Kos, where she started her training.

At the summer camp, we trained and enjoyed the sunny weather

taekwondo taekwondo taekwondoThere was enough buzz in Konala's gym and the surrounding area at the beginning of June, when TU11's first taekwondo day camp gathered 12 juniors to train, play and hang out together on June 3-7. A video was also shot at the camp, which will be shown when finished.
Each day's program included two guided taekwondo exercises, shared meals and outdoor activities. During the week, kicks, pooms, basic technique and acrobatics were practiced, and on Friday the camp culminated in mini-competitions, where they competed in pairs or groups in the skills part, pooms and matches. At the fastest, front kicks hit mits in 34 fifteen seconds, and even for a jump kick, the slap had to be held while sitting on the shoulders. In Pooms, we saw some great couples
individual performances and in the match the cheers were amazing and the distances were just right!

Next summer, kicking again and even better!
