On the Thursday before Midsummer, the gym has joint workouts for all enthusiasts from 17:00 to 18:30, all other workouts have been canceled for the day. So all those who want to get fired up for the last trainings before leaving for Midsummer holidays, Ville Lehtinen will give commands as coach!

There will be small changes to the training calendar of the business series competition group starting this week. Tuesday's practices at 17:00-18:30 will be changed from a practice open to everyone to a closed practice intended for the club's own young competitors. Thursday's exercises at 17-18:30 will be changed from a self-paced exercise to a fully guided exercise and it will still remain open to everyone.
In the future, the Taekwondo athletes' own young competitors who have separately asked the coach responsible for the movement series, Heikki Liukko, will be allowed to participate in Tuesday's training sessions. The intention is to turn the training session into the young competitors' own practice, in which children who compete with goals up to the age group of cadets participate.
Until now, Thursday's practices have been semi-autonomous practices, where a coach has been present, but from this week on Thursdays, full service is on and the coach on Thursdays is usually Ville Lehtinen, or Skavi among the familiar.
Welcome to training!
Timeline of taekwondo athletes
The club is introducing a new tool for monitoring and informing about all the events of the year, please welcome the timeline! The timeline can be found on the website at http://tu11.fi.srv.hoste.fi/taekwondo/aikajana/ and it looks like this:
All events relevant to the club will be marked on the timeline:
- match competitions and business series competitions (domestic and foreign)
- camps (for enthusiasts, competitors, coaches)
- trainings (own trainings, Union trainings)
- belt tests for all training groups
In every event we try to add all the necessary information related to taoaht, but if something is left in doubt, you can ask the coaches for advice. However, please don't come and ask before you have checked whether the answer to your question can be found on the timeline :)
The purpose of the timeline is to facilitate the activities of all club members in connection with competitions, camps and belt tests, and the timeline will be updated diligently. Use, practice and give feedback! If the timeline works, then it will be kept in use, but if it seems that it is not working, then we will go back to the old system or come up with something new!
On May 14, 2016, the movement series competitions were held in Rauma, and among the Taekwondo athletes, Plum Kopisto and Aino Kortelainen participated in the competitions, coached by Essi Labart. The competitions went really well for the club's competitors and the results speak for themselves:
Gold Aino Kortelainen, lynx green belts
Silver Aino Kortelainen, adult enthusiasts, blue belts
Silver Plum Kopisto, cadets
Especially Aino's success at the age of 8 in the adult amateur series is a performance worth raising our hats to. The coaches congratulate the competition team!
Taekwondo athletes 2011 now offers all its enthusiasts the opportunity to get either a TU11 print, their own name, or both. It is possible to put the club logo on the training uniform, i.e. the dobok, the back of the jacket and/or the leg of the pants. On the other hand, you can take your name on the front of the jacket hem and/or on the pants near the waist. There will be one sample suit for the hall, which has all the possible prints that can be purchased in this batch printed on it.
Orders are made by filling out the order list found at the service counter and delivering the designated parts of the suit to one of the trainers in the gym. More detailed instructions on printing can be found in the gym and you can ask the coaches for more information. Adults are also given the opportunity to print the club's logo on other practical training clothes, e.g. t-shirts, jackets, pants, etc. Inquiries related to printing can be addressed to Juho at Juho (a) taekwondourheilijat.fi
Prints cost €8 each, attached are a few pictures of the logo's adventures in different situations :) Also included are pictures of name prints.
Indoor competitions 30.10.2015
Traditional indoor competitions will be held at the taekwondo athletes' hall on Friday 30 October 2015, and it was decided to try a slightly new way of doing things. In other words, before the indoor competitions, competitors and enthusiasts from both our own club and other clubs are recruited, and a list of participants is collected from them, which is published on this page. In this way, anyone who hesitates to participate can see if there are opponents close to their own weight class.
We therefore ask that you promptly notify one of the coaches either of your participation or of your absence. The list is updated as needed. The children of our own club do not need to register. E, D and C2 competitors will not be published, there will certainly be enough of them.
Participation is free for everyone.
17:00-19:00 – E, D, and C2
19:00-21:00 – C1, B1, A1 and H (can be started on a rolling basis even earlier at the end of the junnum races)
17:00-18:00 – skills competition for 3-6 year olds (both TU11 groups combined)

Yesterday, Essi Labart successfully competed in the Dutch Open Business Championship. The competition is an ETU A-class tournament, i.e. the toughest competitions on the business side. Essi competed in two series, in the individual series for women aged 18-30 and in the doubles series with Christian Kamphuis, also in the series for women aged 18-30. In the individual series, Essi's performance was enough for a place in the finals and the final ranking Fifth overall out of sixteen competitors. In the pairs series, Essi and Christian reached third place. Congratulations on a good performance!
Are you interested in a private lesson?
Practicing in a group is a very effective way to learn taekwondo and training in the company of others is more comfortable than alone. Sometimes it still happens that you don't always have time to get an answer to all the things that make you doubt yourself, or you've missed some exercises and the belt exams are fast approaching. More grown-up people, on the other hand, may have accumulated all kinds of aches and pains in their bodies, which do not seem to be helped by group training. For these situations, Taekwondo athletes offers private lessons!
Private lessons are always tailored according to the client's needs, and the content can therefore be exactly what you want. Basic technique, match technique, mobility, strength training or creating a training plan are just examples of what the lesson can contain, you decide. Naturally, all the equipment in Konala's gym is in use during the private lesson, and you can also bring a friend or two to the private lesson and do a small group exercise. Lessons can be asked from all instructors by email at info@taekwondourheiljat.fi or asked in the gym during the exercises.
With the help of private teaching, considerable progress can be achieved in a quick time, so if you want to reach your goals even faster, here is a way to help!

Course price
Sysky's taekwondo course in Kalajärvi lasts about three months and costs €98. At the end of the course, there is a belt test where the enthusiasts try to pass the test required for the new belt rank. The price of the belt test is €20, including a possible new belt.
