Fresh black belts and the examiner after the belt exam

New taekwondo dans to Konala

20.12.2016 in the 1st dan exams held at the taekwondo athletes' gym successfully fought for their belts Jannet Wargelin and Trap. The roughly four-hour exam began Essi Labartin in connection with movement series training with warm-up and kicking technique, from which the test continued in a private lodge with basic technique and movement series. The basic techniques were quite comprehensively reviewed one by one, after which the technique was done while moving in the form. The basic technique was followed by the business series part. After that, the trainees were able to show their steering skills by pulling the warm-ups of adult enthusiasts' training, after which they moved on to the fast-paced step fight and self-defense section. During the small physical Huil, the written part of the exam was completed.

Three hours from the start of the test, we got to measure the mental and physical edge for the match technique part, the warm-ups of which were again handled by the belt coilers. Petteri Kauppinen had come to the place face to face to make sure that the kokela's match part wasn't exactly dancing with thornless roses. In the match part, both old school and new age techniques were reviewed, and finally, of course, we sparred - belt coils also in two-on-one mode. After four hours, we still had to fight against fatigue and cramps in the jumping kick part, and at the end of the test we did the "crushings", which this time were applicable due to the lack of material, but measured competence and power output at a sufficient level.

After the hall had already quieted down for the night, cramps were massaged, test feedback was given, a beautiful but manly barren belt ceremony was held, and the accompanying portrait was taken with a self-timer. The examiner congratulates the new black belts, Jan-Eric Wargelinia and Janne Ritaa, about passing the dan exam with flying colors. The level of competence clearly exceeded the black belt criteria, although there was still room for improvement in a few areas. The measures to correct the "weaknesses" were initially reviewed, and in the next test, the gentlemen are allowed to expect an even more complete whole and a tougher performance.

The test was evaluated and the article was written by:

The coach's thoughts and ideas about the belt tests

A lot has happened this week in terms of belt tests. Even so much that I myself have passed the exam again after a long time. On Thursday, Teemu held dankokes for Paul, Tanja and Hannu. I myself was honored to participate in the test in the role of sparring partner. I got to pair up with Hannu in step matches and a match. Then I also got to remember what it feels like to fight two against one, when Pauli and Hannu and I put each other in a tight spot. It was very nice to see how many high-level friends we have in the company as instructors and how they became official taekwondo teachers after the exam, when they reached 4th degree black belts. Although here I wrote more about Hannu and Paul, we should not forget Tanja as well, who also showed very good skills. It's just that I didn't get to pair up with Tanja this time, so those analyzes were thinner for Tanja.

You will try the portrait of Saturday 5 December 2015
You will try out in the portrait on Saturday 5 December 2015

I mentioned at the beginning that I also passed the exam this week, when on Saturday I had the 5th degree black belt exam at the Helsinki club gym. The test was received by Henri Nordenswan and Jari Hintsanen. I myself have completed all my black belt exams with Henka, except for the first one. I took my 1 Dan exam for the belt college at the time in 2003. You can conclude from the year numbers that the number of exams decreases the further you get in your taekwondo career. This is the message I want to bring to all of you enthusiastic enthusiasts and parents of enthusiasts. The same formula also applies to colored belts. At first, there are always tests for the color belt at the end of the season, but their number also decreases as the color of the belt darkens. Taekwondo enthusiasts should remember that it's a completely different thing to take the exams for a yellow belt than for a blue belt. Practicing Taekwondo requires perseverance and patience. When you can train for a long time and a lot, those belts will come from there.

Testers and teachers

Then we'll get to the opportunity to try it ourselves. One thing that is the same in all exams, whether it is a yellow belt exam or a higher black belt exam, is attitude. The attitude and will to reach the next belt rank is the most important thing to reach a new belt rank. Of course, you have to have the technical know-how and background information, but without the will and attitude, you cannot achieve a new belt rank. Yesterday afternoon there were five of us doing the test and the feedback from the test takers was that the attitude and will exuded from the test takers. Although the physical part was short, it was all the more intense, and this intensity came from us experimenters. Now, writing this article, you feel that intensity. The whole body is completely relaxed and good when you can manage to tap the computer. And this is how it should be done and its level should be experimental. This is one thing that we practice in taekwondo and that is tested at regular intervals with belt exams. When the color of the belt gets darker, you have to start experimenting more and more. In the first belt tests, the teachers make sure that the required level is met, but in the later stages the test takers have to take care of this themselves if they want to achieve the new belt values.

With these pleasant feelings and sensations, it is very nice to end this article that opens up the coach's thoughts.

Once again, I wish everyone the best of luck with their new belt ranks and success in the upcoming belt exams on your taekwondo journey!

Kalajärvi taekwondo courses in a package for spring

Kalajärvi's hard-working taekwondo enthusiasts got to show their skills at the belt test held yesterday, Thursday, May 8, 2014. Those who started the first courses in Kalajärvi were able to take the green belt exam, and those who started this course had the yellow belt exams. A total of 9 enthusiastic testers took part in the belt tests and each of them performed the test very well! A few homeworks were given to some to practice before the final acceptance of the exam, but overall the exam was a good performance. The exam was taken by Juho Ranta, 2nd dan.

The people of Kalajärvi still have taekwondo training next week in Konala, when Kalajärvi school is closed. Exercises for both age groups at 17-18!

Congratulations again to all the belters!

New belt values in the last belt tests of spring 2013

vyo values beltIn the last belt tests of the spring for taekwondo athletes on 21 May 2013, six new belt values were achieved. Mari Havakka and Anna Kumpulainen achieved the green belts (6 kup), the third degree yellow belt (7+ kup) was achieved by Sami Leskinen, the second degree yellow belt (7 kup) was achieved by Johanna Mäkelä and Jani Kuusela and the yellow belt (8 kup) was achieved by Mikael Uimonen . All those who received a belt completed a clearly approved test, and all aspects of taekwondo were well under control, although not all areas have been thoroughly studied. The belt test was held by Teemu Heino and Juho Ranta.

The belt test also served as the first part of the belt test for upper belts that continued on May 23, 2013, where Ville Ahola (5+ kup), Janne Rita (3 kup) and Lasse Laaksonen (2 kup) completed new belt values.

Congratulations to all those who completed the new belt rank!

Kalajärvi taekwondo course students' belt tests

Kalajärvi belt test
Teemu shows the batting model to the belt players

The belt exams for Kalajärvi's taekwondo courses were held yesterday, April 25, 2013, and a total of 16 eager test takers achieved the new belt value in the exam. Six trainees achieved the yellow belt, i.e. 8th kup belt rank, and the remaining ten trainees were graduated to the 7th kup belt rank, i.e. the first green natsa. Teemu Heino 4th dan and Juho Ranta 2nd dan received the belt test. In the opinion of both teachers, the belt exam went exemplary for the group as a whole and there was no need to doubt anyone getting a new belt rank. Teemu and Juho congratulate everyone who got a new belt rank!!!

The next belt exams in Kalajärvi will be held at the end of the autumn courses, near the end of the year, when those who have been practicing for the longest time will have the opportunity to pass the belt exam with a 7th+ kup belt value, i.e. get another green natsa on their belt. Participating in this belt test, however, also requires going to training at Konala's gym during the summer or fall. This is due to the fact that as the belt value increases, the amount of practice required before participating in the test also increases, and the practices are only held once a week in Kalajärvi. There is so much to learn before the next belt test that practicing once a week is not enough.

Next week in Kalajärvi, the last exercises of the spring season courses will be held before the summer break, so come and train everyone!

New belt values for taekwondo athletes on March 12, 2013

taekwondo | Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa
taekwondo athletes' assistant instructor Tanja Lovikka completed the 1 kup belt rank on 12 March 2012

In the belt examinations held on 12 March 2013, the following persons increased their belt rank:

  • Matti Puromäki, 1 cup
  • Tanja Lovikka, 1 cup
  • Markku Hannula, 6 cups
  • Sami Leskinen, 7 cups
  • Jenny Suihko, 7 cups
  • Tommi Kaikkonen, 8 cups

Because the belt test ended for different people at different times, it was not possible to give feedback to everyone directly after the test. Those who did not receive feedback, remember to ask Teemu or Juho as soon as possible.
